This is a forum for boxing fans, hard-core fans if you will, but the amount of people on here who greet any upcoming fights threads with ' I won't be watching ' always amuses me. Surely a fan, not a casual, a knowledgeable fan, would want to see many if not all the fights. I do. I know watching alot of what we're sold can stick in the throat a bit but can a real fan go Feb and March and not watch any of those shows. Brook Khan, no thanks, Taylor Catterall, mismatch, Eubank Williams, second rate. Doesn't sound like a fan to me. Yes, there's alternative ways to view but not watching at all then regularly posting on a boxing forum......thats bizarre.
Many times unexciting cards and fights on paper ends up with unexpected cracking fights and overhyped fights such as Joshua v Parker/Takam/Ruiz 2 etc end up stinkers. Most people on here do find a way to watch whether a subscriber or in a bar. Glad to see fights being announced and looking forward to finding out when Shanny is regaining her World Title.
People like to vent a little, and have a little moan. We always tune in come fight night. There was no way I was going to get up in the middle of the night and watch the Fury - Wilder fight.. Who was I kidding.
Not sure what the posts above are on about when talking about Dazn bankruptcy claims. I’ve seen nothing of the sort posted in any of these threads
I planned to go to bed and get up at 4am for Fury v Wilder 3, watched the first fight and all of a sudden, I am going to bed at 6am wide awake having watched a very good undercard and cracking main event.
That's anecdotal though and in no way an indicator of how many subscribers DAZN has. We've had AJ PPVs before where posters will say "none of my friends are buying it" or "nobody is talking about it" so expect it to bomb. The numbers then come out and the ppv was a huge success. Personally I feel if DAZN was really struggling and the subscription numbers were ridiculously low we would see some leaks from those in the industry who can get access to the data. When eleven sports launched in the UK it didn't take long for the media to report on how the service was struggling to attract subscribers.
Yes and the other side of the coin is that there is no evidence available to back up any claims made by Edward Anthony Blair Earn
Not sure if this is aimed towards me but to pay for an outright sub for nothing else issues are, it is a solid set of headliners, a lot depends on undercards. 5 Feb is a good fight, but hardly one I will be setting a 4am alarm for. So highlights will be available in the morning. 12 Feb is a decent scrap and one I would like to watch 17 Feb Absolutely no interest 27 Feb Sunday night fights I like the concept of. Okolie could lose, interesting fight 5 March Estrada vs Chocolito best fight of the lot. But won't be staying up for. Highlights 12 March Wood vs Conlan best UK fight and I may attend. 19 Mar solid but nothing more. Won't be waking up for it. 26 Mar only interesting due to how much Warrington may have become a corpse. So only 4 primetime UK fights in 3 months, and there will be at the very least 2 clashes with something I pay for for other sports.
Why watch highlights of something like chocolatito vs Estrada?? It’s one on the best fights and trilogies of the last decade. You can also watch the whole show start to finish immediately after it end. With DAZN you can literally wake up Sunday morning and watch the whole thing. If you only watch highlights of a fight like that then that’s incredible
That’s definitely not the case though is it. I know for a fact they have a solid core subscriber base and funding that will eventually drive themselves into the biggest sports platform in the world. Just because big Dave down your boozer doesn’t have it doesn’t mean no one does. You’d be surprised at the demographics of the subscriber base. DAZN and Sky are gearing all of their content at under 40s that will consume the content for the next 20 years
I wasn't referring to you mate, just the majority of the responses I read said they were only interested in 1 or 2 fights. The Super-Flyweight fights are great fights - the previous ones were FOTY contenders. Obviously they are early in the morning, but you can just watch them on the Sunday afrerwards. We haven't seen the undercards yet either for some of these events.
