SAVANNAH MARSHALL is fighting to get her career back on track after Floyd Mayweather’s broken promises derailed her promising career.

The two-time Olympian signed her first professional promotional deal with the Money Man in 2017 and made her debut on the undercard of the Conor McGregorbout.

A points win in Las Vegas should have catapulted her into the bigtime but things went quiet around the super-middleweight star nicknamed the Silent Assassin.

“I would say I got plenty of life experience from living in American on my own. It was a good six months for me.

“I didn’t miss home but the path they had in mind for me and the path I want for myself were very different and there were promises made that we were then broken.

As for ‘Money’ himself? “In my whole time with Mayweather Promotions I met him once, and it was for about thirty seconds. He didn’t even speak to me directly.”

Making her pro debut on the undercard of ‘The Money Fight’ between new promoter Floyd Mayweather Junior and Conor McGregor should have been the perfect start.

Yet that evening in August 2017 at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena did not go as planned for Savannah Marshall.

Marshall fought in front of an empty arena before missing one of the biggest fights of all time because of a mix-up over tickets.

“I was on at about 4 o’clock and there were about 10 people in the arena,” she told Mirror Sport after a training session at Hughie Fury’s gym. “They didn’t even play any ring walk music! That’s the other side of it.

“I got three tickets and I gave them to my mam, my dad and my sister.

"After I won and got back to the changing rooms, within about 10 minutes there were bouncers at the door, saying ‘you need to leave because you don’t have a ticket’.

 

Floyd made promises he could not keep. How you gonna do Sweet Savannah or all people dirty like that? Shame on Floyd and shame on you for defending him for doing so.
