Rumours of Canelo-Charlo in the works.

Apparently according to thaboxingvoice, they say Haymon is offering huge money for Canelo to fight Charlo at 168. Rumours at this point, and the information is from a recording from Mike Coppinger speaking at an ESPN round table (Coppinger can be very hit and miss though).

Thoughts on this fight? Personally, I think Ginger steamrolls Charlo.

And yes, Clenelo would steamroll Charlo.

 

Not happening, but it would not be an easy fight for Canelo. Charlo is strong and has a lot of dog in him

 

Charlo looked like **** last time out against a nobody. Clenelo bats and stops him.

 

Personally would prefer the David Benaivides fight but this would be a very good match up. Canelo would be favourite but Charlo is a genuine live dog in this fight.

Charlo beats Clenelo and Clenelo knows this so the fight will never materialize.

 

Live dog ??? LOL He never gave Korobov a rematch after Mattie schooled him but got robbed.The Charlo's are run of the mill nothing special

 

Good fight. Big Charlo can move his career forwards with a strong showing even if he doesn't win.

Also opens the door for Small Charlo to move up to Middleweight if he unifies at Junior Middle.

Big Charlo is a much better opponent than the third rate dross Canelo has faced at Super Middle so far.

Good fight for both guys, I reckon.

 

Yet they have been very successful

 

Their success relies more on who they know than what they know about boxing today.
both Charlo's have benefitted from " Friendly officials." Ask almost anyone about an upcoming Canelo fight they ALL have the same opinion The opponent may well actually win the fight but no way in hades will they get the winning decision. The house fighter must always prevail

 

Most good fighters look like **** against lower level competition some nights. It’s no big deal, we’d obviously see the best version of Charlo vs Canelo. I don’t think he’d win, but would definitely bring a tough fight

 

I’ll just say this and leave it alone and I’m a huge Charlo bros fan in the ring.

The difference between this era and Floyd/Manny era was the fact that guys made their own legacies before they even got a fight against those guys. So of course whatever Canelo do and his opponents will never stack up to Manny/Floyd. BJS, Plant, Callum Smith, GGG, Jacobs, Jermall, Andrade, Bivol all wait around and take easy fights until their name is called as a Canelo opponent. None of those guys outside of GGG can’t even sniff contention let alone get one HOF vote.

Genaro Hernandez, Corrales, JLC, Gatti, Zab, ODLH, Hatton, Morales, Barrera, Marquez, Larios we’re all either long term champions, P4P ranked fighters or unified champions when Floyd and Manny shared the ring with them.

Then during both guys big PPV WW runs guys like Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, had all fought each other with guys like Maidana and Bradley coming off big wins or unifying a division.

These guys in Canelo era do the bare minimum before fighting him and once they get that check their career stall out without a serious legacy to remember. I always wanted to see this fight because I think Charlo will go for the win and not just settle with not getting KO’d like Danny Jacobs. But this is why it’s always easy to criticize any Canelo opponent.
