Gans thought he would have lost, himself. He thought so at the end of the first round such was his physical weakness. But it's boxing - Britt was spending; Gans could punch. The point is that a hurtful DQ win while weight drained just is not the same as a knockout loss because a booming counter-uppercut followed by three left hooks against a hurt opponent takes one second and was possible.

    That is irrefutable.

Time doesn't exist before you were born? I was born in 2003, which would make Vasyl Lomachenko the greatest LW I've ever seen live. That doesn't mean he's my GOAT LW.

Asked about Gans being rated above him Leonard said," if they have to go that far back to find someone to beat me, I'm content,"

You still don't understand. And your example is not valid. Since you'd be born in 2003, it means you'd have been able to compare all the great lightweights including Lomachenko.
My point was that since Duran's career had already unfolded by the time I was born, it was already clear that he was the best LW ever.
I didn't mean he was the best cause he's the only great LW I knew about/I saw, I meant he was the best cause it was clear he was better than all other ATG LWs.

Benny is still the greatest LW and the greatest Leonard! I wouldn’t argue over Leonard Duran or Gans in any order, I think they all belong in the conversation

    still true.

I've seen Duran and i've seen Benny Leonard and have deduced that BL was much superior.

Very valid point about Bennys WLD, could close down the debate, on some levels .
I was 18 when Roberto won the title, and so followed his career and all the defences over that 6/7 year period, so I might be a tad biased , the thing is I cant see any LW winning against a peak Duran , that might be when he beat DeJesus the second time. keep well.

Interesting, I have also seen Leonard ( not a lot I have to say ) and Duran and I have deduced that Duran would have won ( possibly not the best fighter, that's important ) you pays your money, and takes your pick, not buying your assertion that Benny was MUCH superior, sorry. Keep well buddy.
