He fought Byron Mitchell when Mitchell was considered lineal champion to become lineal champion in a unification fight.
He also beat G Johnson when prime who went on to become lhw lineal champion

That is only a very small section of his excellent career as well

    Lies.

Calzaghe was past prime and about the same age as Jones.

Hopkins was Ring light heavyweight champ when he was beaten by Calzaghe. After that, he had wins over Pavlik, Cloud, Pascal and others, becoming light heavyweight champ once again.

was roy jones the same fighter after came down from HW?
hopkins was in his mid-40's when calzaghe cherry-picked him, and still only got a split decision, despite coming off a career-best win over mikkel kessler.

Don't worry. AussieInvader accepts only US and AUS boxers.
He also does have dual criteria for strictly hometown based boxers; there for him more matters boxers origin.

He never will recognize european origin boxer, not alone EE boxer.
Calgaze is sardinian/ welsh origin gentleman and with this already for him will be enough.
Then ofc about central or EE origin boxers he does have even more harsh criteria.

If Chalgaze was from US or AUS we here had saw different kind of posts. The same with Kessler, Strum, Ottke, Klits, Usyk, Loma, Bet etc and etc.

It is a bit amazing but he is very tribal guy.
Boxers like Oscar, Floyd Sr and Jr, Holyfield liked me and even instagram boxer Ryan likes a bit.

AussieInvader does have different criteria: these are based on BOXERS ORIGIN.

You should live with this, he never will change his biased judgement criteria.

Whilst as Aussie Invader noted, Zags should have left Warren earlier and tried to fashion some better fights, it is still a fact that a fight with Hopkins in the US was a 'done deal', until Hopkins doubled his demands from 3million to 6million, scuppering the fight - this is clearly documented with some reliable witnesses to the meeting. Fight was all agreed, then next day Hopkins doubles his demands.

Yet BHop ended up fighting Willaim Joppy for far less than the agreed £3million with JC.

That's one case where the blame did not actually lie with Joe or even Warren, that was squarely on Bernard - and yes maybe it was high-risk, low-reward given Joe wasn't well known in the Us, but Hopkins still was the one who kiboshed that fight.

As it happens for Joe, maybe if he had got that fight he wouldn't have ended up getting the career-defining Lacy and Kessler fights so hard to say it turned out that bad for him - but it maybe underlines why the quality in his resume wasn't as good between 2003-2006; JC was always going to be a high-risk low-reward fight for any HOF/ATG level operators at that time.

But, as I've said before here, the fact that Zags and Ottke managed to have 21 defences in the same division over a similar stretch of time is a disgrace - and whilst I understand why it never happened, it's one of the worst. Of course, given Reid, Brewer & Mitchell all should have been fighting Zags as champ after being robbed on the cards puts more of the blame on Ottke/Germany IMO - Ottke was never going to come to the UK, and after those decisions, I can see why JC and Warren wouldn't go to Germany either. Still shameful

Was a good boxer with excellent footwork but very dull and had the benefit of some very dodgy decisions. The lack of excitement was in part to the very boring German crowd . vlad and co also suffered from this issue.

    Who was his manager, promoter?
Cos these usually are getting % from boxer's purse, they might be interested to get more.
F.e to tell ask more money in order to get more $ in % payments.

Ref in Reid fight plus judges then.
Then one other fight, where judges cards had looked like called by some germans as " Ottke cards ".
Basically 2 fights when Ottke was over the hill.

Yeah, in these 2 you should had fight vs ring ref and judges, only after this vs Ottke.
    Disgrace and horrible reality.

    Earlier he was lesser protected.

Wlad? Germans didn't had HW boxer capable to get World title or Oly Gold in HW division.
This was reason why they had used Klits to boost tickets sales and media attention.
Vitaly never ever was boring to watch, Wlad: yeah, but sometimes he was watchable.

Boxing had boosted in Germany when Maske had fought, then boxing popularity had rising and sales started to boost.
Then was DM and these Sturm, Ottke.
Later appearead that Klits and Huck are some kind of tickets sales draw.
    Now? I dunno.

The lineal title isn't so much about belts but more about beating the man who beat the man.

When Johnson and Tarver fought, it wasn't for one of the four major titles, so you are wrong again like so many other times.

Ottke beat Mitchell the lineal champ at smw and beat prime Johnson who would go on tibe lineal champ at lhw and not for one of the four major belts

You really shouldn't keep posting on these threads when you know so little. It's why you keep getting schooled by me

Calzaghe and Ottke had 6 common opponents with each fighting 3 before the other
