Witherspoon was nowhere near that far ahead when he stopped Bruno, those scorecards were pathetic, I wouldn`t be surprised if Don King had something to do with that, Spoon got caught loads by Bruno in that fight.
Williams was in rehab 4 weeks after his fight with Bruno. Fergusson was the sort of Cruiser Frank used to feed on. Tillis by then was a journeyman, although, granted, a good one. Coetzer had also retired. I'm not a Bruno hater in the least. He kept Boxing relevant after the Golden Age of Stracey, Hope and Minter. I'm just saying what I saw at the time mate. In our gym, his opponents were laugh out loud.
Give over! It was just 8 months after he terrorised Michael Spinks and was during a period where he beat Larry Holmes, Pinklon Thomas, Tony Tucker etc..
(Ferguson wasn't a cruiserweight. He was an old heavyweight journeyman, but he did go 1-1 in distance fights with Ray Mercer just before Bruno battered him.) We agree Bruno fought terrible opponents. I remember them same as you do, more or less. But I think you're not opening your eyes to Whyte's similarly shabby opposition.
First off, Rooney didn’t leave he was removed by Don King and secondly, are you really trying to tell us that in less than 8 months Mike Tyson had forgotten everything he’d learned since he was 13 years old from Cus and Rooney
We are close Unforgiven but , other than Title fights, There are no Joshua's, Chisoras or Parkers on Frank's record. Sorry, I take that back, Bonecrusher Smith was a very live opponent. I don't blame Bruno at all and I'm sure he would have fought Tubbs, Page Tucker etc... but Lawless and Duff would never allow it.
Bruno didn't exactly have the sturdiest mandible, but he's like George Chuvalo compared to Whyte. Frank sleeps him inside of 4
I of course vote for Dillian Whyte. A. He has more going for him in his arsenal than Bruno. Variety of punches each of which carry power. B. He is the bigger stronger guy, and its not like Bruno is the more mobile/snappier fighter. C. whyte can soak up Brunos power and punches because he has only ever shown to be in trouble against explosive fighters with solid uppercuts and fast handspeed... They’re friends today and Frank backs Whyte a lot more than any other heavyweight today. He actually cares about Whyte.
Bruno rocked Tyson which is more than Whyte has accomplished even in his dreams He gave Lennox all he could handle early Whyte gets knocked out
