Eubank has a better smw resume than Jones or Toney Don't recall them wanting to travel either and we know Eubank twice faced Collins who Jones didn't fight
Calzaghe was also closer to the end of his career than Hopkins and Jones and stepping up to their division
Well the famous Reid 'warning for a punch' was a fair warning, Reid was slapping with the glove -- an infringement which should get flagged up more by referees. The only controversy with the refereeing in that fight should be that Ottke was allowed to hold Reid excessively whereas Reid wasn't allowed to hold Ottke, excessively. Reid punched Ottke in the balls numerous times, a good S.O.G display. Ottke was shot to bits by then anyway so that fight shouldn't be held up against him, cause no one counts Roy Jones getting destroyed by Danny Green or Antonio Tarver early doors because he lost "20 lbs of muscle in one year!" and was past his prime. Ottke was a defensive master, Kessler had trouble with movers alone and even if he caught Ottke, Ottke would take it, as his chin was great. It would've been a typical Ottke 8-4 win.
Ottke did KO Mundine don't forget. Mundine went on to hold titles and fought a great 12rounder against Kessler before Mundine than clearly beating Danny Green on points in their first fight..... Ottke should get more credit for the Mundine win
The sad thing is that Golovkin was even living in Germany at the time but there was no incentive to get him good fights.
if you stay in wales your whole career and can't make the fight, it's exactly like DM putting an ad in the paper saying he wants to fight roy jones...but doing nothing about it.
so stop talking about belts altogether. you don't need to pad a fighter's resume with belts if they fulfill the foolproof 'who they fought and when' criteria.
