It was a dangerous fight when active, let alone coming back from a long lay off, especially one that wasn’t exactly healthy. Tyson nearly got iced boxing the way he did. I think the tactics were ok considering the lay off. In the second fight Tyson had 12 rounds of experience to go off, and more fitness and conditioning.

It’s all well and good Ben slagging off all the trainers in the UK, but it’s only going to bite his fighters in the arse when they can’t get any good sparring because no trainer wants him in their gym.

The fighter has to feel comfortable with his trainer. Some fighters can fight as well regardless who trains them. That’s not a criticism towards Ben, as I think he is doing a good job for his fighters. It would be interesting to ask a few old pros why they chose there particular trainer or why they moved on. I am sure it would come down to more than the trainers skill set in coaching.

He nearly got iced because he was too conservative. You have a 70lb weight advantage over your opponent you ought to be blowing him out of there not hanging around (more time to be caught).

Josh Taylor mentioned in a recent interview the McCormack twins have been in the gym.

Does anyone know if they're going to turn pro with Davison or stay with Graeme Rutherford?

Stay with Rutherford? Davison has a lot of young fighters including the Azim brothers, Dubois and Scotney. He’s also just started training this Frank Warren prospect called Barney something.

I thought it was Graeme Rutherford who trained Pat and Luke?

My bad. Terrible post by me, Scotney is with McGuigan too.

For some reason I get confused between McGuigan and Davison.

Anyone remember when he randomly cornered BJS for a fight, and was ridiculed by every single fan who watched it? That should've been the last we heard of him

Agree with alot on here but a tad harsh on Davidson.
Tell me , what more has he to do ?
One of the main issues I hear is he hasn't brought any boxer from day 1 .
OK that's fine but he isn't in the game long enough to do that.
Tell me who ticks all the boxes.
Who has had big fighters in big wins .
Who has brought a boxer from A to Z.
Who has made an average amateur into a world champ etc etc .
