Good, that Makabu fight would have been some pointless Floyd type ****. Canelo needs to fight real boxers. Take care of Charlo and do things at light heavy. If successful go all the way in and fight for a heavyweight title after that.

Charlo should insist on a rehydration clause to guard himself from being weight bullied by ginger. In the scheme of Canelo's career it would be poetic justice

I thought before the Brook vs GGG fight, i remember Brook saying he walks around at 190lbs, so all he will have to do is cut to 160lbs rather than 147lbs. He was all for it.

 

Mira only 5 boxers in history who have become a legitimate 5-division champion, if Canelo fought Makabu or any of the cruiser champs that’s infinitely better than anything he can do outside of beating Beterbiev

 

Because there is a section of online/YouTube boxing people who claim that Canelo doesn't fight black fighters.

Im not saying theres any credence, but its a thing that gets said.

 

He makes the best fights in boxing, IDGAF what anybody says, he consistently takes great fights that are interesting and worthy of watching.

 

I don’t get all that impressed by ‘on paper’ achievements, I care more about the reality. I didn’t consider Roy heavyweight champion for that reason. Tough thing to do, but not as impressive as it is on paper. Makabu is levels below that, I can’t even see that fight as anything other than a stay busy fight. It feels like a waste of a valuable, limited Canelo fight. Everything is historic from here, give us the real ****. I’m satisfied with his super middle run, doing the same at light heavy is what he should aim for. Charlo is a better stay busy fight than Makabu imo, by a long way.

 

I love this Canelo guy, not only fights for legacy like a true champion fighter, but he’s aggressive and entertaining while he does it. He can do it all, if he can become undisputed at light heavy I’m seriously ready to consider putting him as the GOAT.
His resume is insane when you go down it. You almost forget that he fought guys like Cotto, Mosley and Lara. Put an end to the GGG mystique. That almost seemed like the start of his career. Mind blowing ****.

 

who currently would you pick at 160 or 168 to beat makabu? If nobody then yes that is very impressive. You mention Roy Jones and how you don’t consider him a HW champ even tho 160-heavy has been done what twice in 100yrs or something like that, then factoring resume it’s not like these guys have beaten better comp than makabu what the hell has Charlo done to say he’s on that level? Outside of Beterbiev it’s really nobody at 168 or 175 that you can tangibly say is better than makabu is currently because none of these guys are fighting each other
