For example DAZN Italy made promises Serie A ratings would not be below the previous Sky Italy coverage when they negotiated the deal. At the moment they are not matching previous numbers. Actually surprised the premier league just don't do there own streaming service when you now have two non TV platforms showing % of games. Guessing the club's don't want to pay for the whole infrastructure etc etc.

They probably don't care. All the clubs care about is the money. This is the same premier league that wanted to make a season 39 games so one game could be played on the other side of the world. They can't make up for a billion on rights fees with subscriptions. Also an epl streaming service only works if they were allowed to show every game.
It will be awful if not. The Premier League Football on Amazon Prime is a decent stream like DAZN UK but at least 40 secs behind the live action. It is also very slow changing from match to match on the App with long waiting time for loading streams compared to the instant changing of a channel on TV.
Whatever the current price is for BT Sport and DAZN UK now, the new price will be - current aggregate cost of both + 10% increase + 20% Value Matchroom Tax
The Premier League does not need their own streaming service. In every single country in the world, there is a fierce battle for the television / streaming rights to the Premier League. PL generates huge sums outside UK's borders.
They would make much more doing it in-house. They currently receive 1.7 billion in UK rights fees and 1.3 billion in overseas. conservatively of the premier league had 35 million subscribers at £19.99 and sold it as all the matches including 3pm kickoffs. The service would generate 7.2 billion in annual income approx 15% of that would be operational costs. if they were smart that’s what they would do. But it would take 3/5 years to get off the ground. They need to employ project developers and programmers in-house and secretly begin mapping and planning the platform. Best bet would be to start it overseas first to build subscribers. If they did it world football would never be the same again. they don’t have the long term planning to do that though and it would leak as soon as the clubs found out as it would be by committee and some of the owners have links or shares in some of the broadcasters like Abu Dhabi By the way my subscribers numbers are very cautious. DAZN already have half that figure with no where near the amount of rights
I don't think people would pay £20 a month for just the EPL. That is expensive for one sport. Also I feel if the EPL went down that route it wouldn't take long for the big clubs to demand a change to the distribution of funds. They would rightly argue that the vast majority of subs come from fans wanting to watch games that involve the big sides so should get the bigger slice of the pie.
That’s the same as now. Most fans tune in to the likes of Man Utd. the £19.99 was a reference but given its £40 a month for Sky and 80% of their subscriber base is football driven they could easily charge that for all 38 games
This would genuinely be the best option in my opinion for the Premier League. If they set up their own service for just premier league games / shows, they would eclipse the subscribers of BT Sport and DAZN put together.
Bear in mind thet F1 are already doing this in several countries. They've got an all-digital app platform with all live races and lots of shoulder programming. Price differs by territory - example €65 a year in Croatia, $80 a year in the USA. In 2021, watching F1 in the UK legally cost a minimum of £230 a year. And that option isn't even a full HD stream. The Premier League have 380 games to offer, thousands of hours of coverage. If they offered a 'dip in dip out' service it'd go crazy, imho. But it won't happen for a while, because the status quo works for the league and clubs. Just my opinion now: the current package of sports channels are brilliant for the hardcore universal sport fan. Expensive, but great wall to wall coverage of football, rugby, tennis, golf, darts, snooker, etc. I used to be that person, but as middle age arrives I watch more selectively. Paying the price I do for TV sport I watch - on average - for 10 hours a week is galling. I want to watch legally, I want to watch in the highest available quality. The broadcasting model needs to offer more price effective, contract-free options for people like me.
