Ridicule what. He was mandatory and would get his shot. With the dates available lara was not sanctioned to fight for the title. Kid did a interview stating he was in contact with the IBF through out the process. The ibf rightly stook to their guns other bodies may not have. I may not like kid but the ibf did right by him. Good job for kid lara wasn't sanctioned for a title fight or he wouldn't of won a world title to date.
To be fair mate, i was more mocking your obsession with the situation I honestly care for neither boxer
An opportunity came about and we jumped at the chance. Who wouldn't. ... If kid had of won he would of been chasing unifications.
Can’t blame Warrington in the slightest but he’s incredibly lucky how this has worked out. The two-time world champion tag will have a big asterisk next to it.
It's the vacating of the belt only to go back after it when there's probably an easy nights work that's the issue here
The "x-time champion" tag in boxing is flimsy at best, anyway. It is intended to be an achievement where, in most cases, it simply shows that a boxer has lost.
Can’t blame him for taking the fight I meant. Definitely CAN blame him for not wanting to fight his mandatory. If he was going straight into another big fight there would be an explanation but he vacated to fight a nobody and then lost. From that position, he couldn’t have personally wrote a better way for the story to turn out.
Get what you’re saying here but I do think there is something impressive about a (genuine) champion losing, and coming back to avenge the loss and win his belt back.
What makes you think he is going to win? Josh struggled with Martinez last time and he is a shell of the fighter he was back then. If you are talking about Kiko, it's a good post.
‘Should he win’ I should have added (although I do make Warrington a big favourite). Second post on two-time champions wasn’t specific to anyone, more a general opinion of mine that if a champ loses (to a genuine challenger) then comes back to win the belt back, is impressive to me, despite the loss. This is off on a bit of a tangent to be honest, nothing to do with this fight.
Word on the street is Warrington has had 10 gallons of Vaseline delivered. Martinez doesn't stand a chance
It's more impressive for a champion to not lose in the first place, and keep on winning. X-time should be reserved for those who retire and come back, are out with injury or lose the belts out of the ring in some way. There are too many mediocre X-time champions flying around.
