Other than the famous Lopez and the two Johnson fights, what are other entertaining Matthew Saad Muhammad Fights?
Any of them. Specifically, I recommend the Richie Kates fight. It's arguably the best he was ever in; and if you don't know what happens in it, don't even bother looking it up. Just enjoy the fight with no prior knowledge. It's incredible. If you haven't seen them, the first Lopez and Conteh fights are worth watching. Both very, very good fights. The Jerry Martin fight is pretty and good and I'm sure @William Walker could point out some more. Iirc, he was big on one post-Qawi against Willie Edwards (who, if I remember right, dropped Czyz in a short war too) but I'll let him fill you in on that coz I haven't seen it. I suppose if he's stopped posting you could use his search history. Or just watch the fight lol
Hey man. Appreciate the mention. I'm not done posting here, I'm just not in a situation right now where I can't watch matches. Will be posting plenty again in late February.
I think the Muhammad catalogue speaks for itself mostly. The fights with Lopez, Johnson, Kates, and Conteh 1 are his most exciting fights. All some of the greatest of all time. Besides that, Muhammad has a lot of good knockouts. Qawi 1 is a good fight, though brutally one-sided. And the Jerry Martin and Willie Edwards are pretty good as stated. I would think the Murray Sutherland fight would be good too, but I don't remember it well.
Yes, an excellent fight as are pretty much all Saad’s fights. Too bad the fight with Billy Dynamite Douglas isn’t out there as that was supposed to have been an incredible war.
Outside of his famous ones against Johnson, Lopez, i'd say the best one i see was vs Richie Kates. But you can't go wrong with any of his title defences. Like Bobby Chacon and Arturo Gatti i've never seen him in a dull fight.
Slightly off topic but awhile ago i watched Marvin Johnson vs Jean Marie Emebe for the first time, that was an amazing fight. Marvin Johnson and Matthew Saad Muhammad are for certain my favourite Light Heavyweights. Just value for money in every single fight they had win or lose.
The Jerry Martin one is good too. I think Saad was about ready to be taken at that point but was good enough to come back again - his last last hurrah before he met Qawi.
