People actually consider the p4p best in the world who has beaten everyone at his time at 160lbs and 168lbs and a man who will be coming in the ring at like 182lbs they actually consider him a threat? How surprising?
Hauler would be an oversized 168lbs in the ring probably lighter and Canelo would be 182lbs thereabouts and he has p4p level skills, this really isn’t the fight you think it is Just because you have someone who was p4p best in the 80s that doesn’t automatically make him better than the p4p nowadays
Hagler is cut from a different cloth then Canelo and came up the hard way. Canelo would have never made it through Phillys murder row of middle weights. Super middle. Middle. Doesn't and won't matter Hagler beats him up. And for the slow ones who claim well Canelo is going to come in at 180lb what do you think Hagler would do? He would adapt and do the same.
He could be p4p best in the world, depends who you ask, some may say Usyk, Fury, Crawford, Inoue or Canelo, there isn’t much between any of these Also how is Canelo not in Hagler’s league skill wise? What does Hagler do skill wise that is so far apart in levels in comparison to Canelo’s skill variety?
Crawford, Inoue and Loma are all clearly better fighters than Canelo IMO. Canelo is massively benefitting from a terrible division. Hagler is a far more tidy in all areas than Canelo; is a better infighter and offensive fighter, is a better ring general and has a much better jab. He's harder to hit, has better feet offensively and is several stratospheres better at moving, in any and all directions. The only thing Canelo is better at is counter-punching.
Canelo has a brilliant punch variety and is always finding way to lure you into a false sense of security let’s you get comfortable, throw and then he counters, in whatever method he has made you do that, he leans himself forward to sneak himself that big closer into range without you realising, that is how he is able to land jabs on much taller people, he doesn’t just keep himself forward, he will put himself forward in a relaxed manicure as if he doesn’t mean anything with it then bang he has landed a jab and now he’s in range, it’s small stuff like that what the p4p level people do, he also gives them a target let’s them throw a few and when they load up on a punch, he will then pull back or turn his shoulder and counter as we seen his do against Saunders which broke his eye socket, he also has the ability to adapt to whatever style these days Canelo is severely underrated on here and these small details are not seen or appreciated
