    Official cards:

    79-72
    80-71
    78-73

    UD for Valladares

I guess Loranca had a point deducted at some point, not sure for what.

This crew is so bored. Claudia drumming up outrage that one judge had it 78-73, demanding to know where Loranca won a round, let alone two. Paulie and Jaime shrugging like "she isn't wrong, but...meh...it's late, we're tired, and this fight couldn't be any less important and the right guy won by a wide slate of cards, so... :nusenuse:"

This is an eliminator for the right to face Jerwin Ancajas.

Obbadi was born in Casablanca but moved from Morocco to Italy and there jumped from soccer to boxing - much like his nicknamesake Sergio Martínez (Obaddi's moniker is "Maraviglia", the Italian version of Maravilla).

Pretty funny moment w/ Malignaggi saying that Obbadi speaks with a pretty decent Italian accent "for a guy that came from another place". The irony being that he is himself a New Yorker from birth and not a native speaker and probably got made fun of when he visited his ancestral lands for having a Brooklyn-Italian accent.

Bornea draws his own comparisons to a recent legend of the sport, hailing from the city where Manny Pacquiao grew up and bearing some stylistic similarities, southpaw stance aside.

    Round 1: 10-9 Obbadi

10-9 Obbadi; Bornea looks so unimpressive every time I watch him.

    Round 1

Obbadi keeping Bornea on the very end of his left jab and hooking into his right ear. Obbadi using good footwork and leveraging some hefty body hooks and sometimes going upright and laying a trap with an uppercut or straight right. Bornea tries pecking his way in but looks cautious as his jabs come up short and get him countered by Obbadi's.

    10-9 Obbadi

    Round 2

Obbadi gets caught unawares with Bornea showing a little versatility, answering the second bell as southpaw having boxed orthodox the whole first. Bornea feinting with right jabs and shoveling lefts into the body. Obbadi tries getting the left jab going, sometimes leading with hooks instead, but the right hook of Bornea is getting doubled up and skipping over whatever Obbadi throws, knocking him across the jawline from above.

    10-9 Bornea

    19-19

    Round 3

Bornea sticking with southpaw, which is smart as he lost a round wide starting orthodox and then won a round wide after making the adjustment. Obbadi gets hurt by a couple of lefts. Obbadi dropping onto fully bent knees and spring-loading rights to fend Bornea off, desperation gambits, "one-and-done and then cut & run". Obbadi gets walked down and dropped by a body shot, first stunning Obbadi with a right hook on his damaged left eye, then a left uppercut on the breadbasket; Obbadi takes a full count on hands & knees.

    KO3!!

oof, disappointing end for Obbadi, he was in the fight landing some good shots, Bornea clearly the harder puncher though.
