Ukrainian legend Oleksandr Usyk turns 35 in a couple days. Wishing him well. Interesting as this is the toughest birthday for any pro fighter to swallow. Because the 35th one is the birthday that all but, certainly signals the end of a fighters prime. The only exception seems to be heavyweights who rely on size and power.

Got me thinking that Usyk schooled AJ in September. Joshua took a few rounds off of Usyk during the middle of the fight when Usyk needed to refuel the tank because he set a blistering early pace. AJ is lucky that this was an older Usyk. The younger Usyk would have plowed right on through those mid rounds at the same pace and probably forced a stoppage or shutout. See the Gassiev fight. Only Murats cast iron chin saved him from stoppage.

Usyk is a speed, reflex fighter and those types of guys arent known for longevity. From my vantage point he hasnt looked as sharp post Gassiev fight. I noticed as far back as Bellew that the gas tank and the speed wasnt the same. But the ring IQ and technique is so sharp that hes compensating for the depleted tank and movement.

The rest of the HW division should consider themselves lucky. Because if this was a 30 year old Usyk then god help them all.

As it stands now Usyk has become arguably the most successful and accomplished fighter of his era. What more can you say about this guy. A magnificent fighter and one of the best to EVER lace 'em up!

    Happy birthday Oleksandr!

I loved AJ-Usyk cause as you say, both guys set a lightning quick pace from the opening bell. Preferred it over Wilder-Fury 3 actually. Let's hope we see a repeat of that pace in the rematch.

Oleksandr the Undisputed would be the perfect way to end a career. The media will call it the Canelo era, but we will call it the Usyk era!

When Fury beats Usyk I don't want to hear anyone who picked him cry about him being an unprime cruiserweight (which he is).

He's done incredibly well and on a given night at the right time he could beat Fury despite being born of a woman, but that night has well and truly passed.

History has shown how important timing of fights is, Floyd didn't wait Pacquiao out for 7 years for fun. Usyk's window is long gone. He sniped AJ just in time.

I truly hope we see this fight around July or August this year. We defo dont want to wait around too long as Fury will go off the rails and say he is retired. Fury will rightly start as favourite but Uysk will give him a lot of trouble.....if Fury doesnt train properly then he will be toast imo

    Happy Birthday Champ

The rightful P4P King and FOTY
    The sport's most fearless warrior
    The King of the road
The nicest most honourable and respectful guy in the sport
    No trash talking
    No deck-stacking
No weakening, handicapping or crippling opponents at the negotiating table
    No fouling
    No cheating

Usyk personifies everything great, right and noble about our sport and even though many heathens and blasphemers who worship at the altar of corruption and have gloves won't travel 'warriors' and cherrypicking chickens, filthy dirty snakes, serial duckers who wouldn't/won't dare do once what Usyk does religiously and who refuse to sign on the dotted line unless they have every advantage that can be wangled in their favour wangled in their favour and who fight on a deck so stacked in their favour they're essentially rolling with loaded dice have been just itching for him to put a foot wrong and praying for his demise he never has. How you Jealous Judases and Amoral Abaddon's can look yourselves in the mirror I'll never know. Shame on you.. shame on you. GTFO of my sport already you demons!

Disgraceful publication. They too busy getting tea bagged by Canelo's shrunken roid nuts to give Usyk his due.

Herring was arguably the worst champ in the sport and the defintion of a paper titlist. For shame.

He didn't even warrant an honorable mention despite outright deserving to win
