Arum wants to match Stevenson with Lomachenko

He may not be a 1 punch power type of guy, but I bet Loma won't be lazy defensively.

 

True. Point being, Stevenson hits hard enough to keep Loma defensively responsible. ie not standing in the pocket exchanging with Stevenson and taking chances because he doesn't respect the power, taking a hit to give a hit ect.

 

Not an argument. Just responding to your inaccurate post about Stevenson not hitting hard. All I'm saying is, he hits hard enough.

 

Teo was a bad day at the office,
with size also playing a factor for Loma. Shakur isn't as big, and Loma never makes a mistake twice. He would wreck Teo in a rematch.

Shakur trying to outbox Loma is an uphill task. To beat him you have to play rough and fight in the gray areas, or have a significant size and reach advantage. Shakur is just like Loma. He's an olympian who fights clean for the most part. I think Loma is the wrong fight for him.

But I completely agree with you that Shakur is strong, fast and hits hard. I think he is the best talent of the 5 young superstars (Shakur, Haney, Tank, Garcia, Teo) and also the least talked about. He beats at least 3 of those other 4, and Haney is the one I'd say is close and could go either way. I also have him beating Kambosos too. 140lbs could be a stretch for him though, and I have Taylor and Prograis beating Shakur.

 

Again, sorry to disparage your guys hero. Do you forgive me? I never said Shakur would win, just don't take him lightly like what happened with Teo. I love how you fanboys are so arrogant before a fight and once your boy doesn't bring the goods, all the excuses start. Funnier than ****.

 

I don't think it's arrogance to pick a guy who went like 400-1 in the amateurs. Even though he lost to Teo and Salido, it is still hard to pick against Loma's experience in a chess match against a guy like Shakur. And as I've just stated, Shakur doesn't bring what Teo or Salido brought. I'm not taking him lightly by any means. I just think Loma is the wrong fight for him.

 

Shakur is much bigger than Loma even though he’s not a lightweight. He’s also starting to get his man strength. Loma has looked great his last two fights, but stylistically they favored Loma a lot more than Shakur’s style. I also don’t think Loma’s at his peak anymore. It’s a tough fight. Close to 50/50 IMO.

 

It's a shame that Tye Fields' size couldn't help him past two hundred twenty pound Monte Barrett. Even more of a shame that a one hundred pound differential in Nikolai Valuev's favor couldn't stop David Haye running out of the Nuremberg Arena with the giant's strap.

There's never been a monsterheavy that was near as good as him for a reason. He's a marvel who defies the drawbacks which typically accompany such immense size. He is P4P.

 

I wouldn't go 50/50, but Stevenson is definitely live dog in this. I think he has the chops to show very well and an upset wouldn't completely shock me .

Also agree that Loma is on the backside of his clock. For his own sake, if he's ever gonna fight Shakur it should be soon.

 

Stevenson-Lomachenko would be a great chess match.

 

Agree with your points, I'd make Loma a clear favorite but as you say he better get it done soon as father time will be parking in his driveway before you know it.
