You can argue a few ways but Ceuvas did possess incredible power and broke some jaws and eye sockets just to underline it.

Cuevas broke multiple jaws , ribs, and eye sockets.
for sheer force of one blow I believe he was the hardest
puncher with one punch in welterweight history.
No other welter did as much physical damage as
he did. And he did it against some very good fighters.
    So my top 5 is
    #1 Cuevas
    #1 B Hearns
    #3 Robinson
    #4 Leonard
    #5 Trinidad
Note I only list fighters theirs enough film on to study.
Robinson gets a pass because theirs plenty of film of
him at middleweight, he carried his power very well.
it's not a big stretch of the imagination to think how deadly
    at welter he probably was.

Leonard's power is really overrated in this forum. His power is underrated doesn't mean his power is ATG. Cotto needs to be Top 5, Mayorga said he hit harder than Trinidad. Pacquaio and Malinaggi said Cotto hit the hardest. Emmanuel Stewart said he is one of the hardest punchers he's ever seen.

    1. Thomas Hearns
    2. Sugar Ray Robinson
    3. Felix Trinidad
    4. Pipino Cuevas
    5. Miguel Cotto

Leonard hit really hard, but please he needs to be outside top 5.

He couldn't knock him out despite hitting him so hard.

Jeff Sims broke Tyrell Biggs collarbone and you don't regard his power highly. What makes Cuevas different?

You'll have to remind me where i said i don't regard Sims power highly?

Cuevas broke numerous bones not just one. Cuevas also has devastating KO's over numerous contenders. A clavicle fracture isn't a common event and not proof you hit harder than X or Y otherwise we might have to put Sims #1 in history. It's probably a case of freak alignment on impact as well as power tho Sims certainly hits hard. I'm sure he never broke any other clavicles.

Sims hit damn hard for sure but he's very short of proof on contenders. Andy Ganigan might have hit harder than anyone at 135 but i hold back on him a little as there's just not enough proof. His bouts against O'Grady, Gato and Arguello are deeper than what Jeff has tho. Goins is another that gets brought up a lot as a a big puncher that doesn't have too much behind him. No doubt he could whack tho when Palomino remembers you all the way from the Ams. They take a leap of faith tho.

    Quartey
    Brown
    Maidana
but yes either Ceuvas or Hearns is No 1.

So you take one fight as proof of his power not being devastating?
Robinson didn't stop Barnes at welterweight?
Duran didn't stop Viriuet or Muniz at lightweight?
Arguello didn't stop Leon at feather. Hearns didn't
    Stop Colbert at welterweight?
    I could go on forever.
So according to your theory since those men
didn't stop every opponent they faced they shouldn't be seen as
    Great punchers?
Plus the convenient fact you choose to use a video of
The Stafford fight. Which was after the Hearns fight.
When Cuevas was fighting on fumes?
That's a very sad example of you trying to push your
agenda. Save that for novices to the sport who actually
never saw any of those men fight live.
Maybe you never saw any of them fight.

Although it was after the Hearns fight. Why some fighters could hit hard even tho their career are also on the decline?

Cotto over Leonard ?? No way.
Put Leonard's fight with Green on- he almost took his head off.
Check his fight with Price - he blitzed him.

Sugar Ray Robinson stopped the best hit list of any WW ever. What he did in the LaMotta fight would rival Hearns KOing Hagler...
