Deontay proved he had both Championship Heart and one of the greatest punches in the history of the division. I see Patterson, Ingo, Briggs, Byrd, Joshua, Ruiz, Dokes, Coetzee, Spinks (both) falling. Possibly Weaver, Norton.
Not sure about the good chin either. Fury isn’t really a puncher and he knocked him out. And he hasn’t really fought any actually punchers where you can see his chin get checked properly
I'd say both Stiverne and Ortiz packed a bit of whack in their shots. Stiverne one shotted Arreola who's got a proven chin, and Ortiz crushed Jennings and Thompson and sent Martin to the land of nod with a single shot as well. Martin's been in 12 rounds with Kownacki so likely doesn't have a terrible chin either (Joshua twatting him was down to Joshua being a beast rather than Martin packing glass IMO). Duhaupas could be said to have a bit of whack as well, though not on the level of the above two.
You probably have a point. The lack of bonafide punchers on his resume is a product of the era we are in also. He definitely has good stamina though, carries his power late in fights when fighting at his natural weight
Yes, his stamina and ability to land fight ending shots late into the fight are definitely qualities for him. Off the top of my head the only other top level HW of recent years that could consistently do that was Tua, whose punching power I rate highly.
I think I'm sure about his chin, it cracks on contact. Fury hurt Wilder anytime he hit him with something decent and the same Fury wailed away on Otto Wallin. Heck Fury never once wobbled the weak chin of Wlad . I'd rate Wilder's chin around an Earnie Shavers level.
Its very similar. People like to make Vitali out to be this head to head monster without having a very proven track record against top opposition so I dont why the idea of Wilder be dangerous head to head is unthinkable.
"Tua was leaden-footed and the slubbiest prominent heavyweight of modern times, making him far less dangerous than a very fast 6'7 Wilder. A number of poor and by no means iron-chinned journeymen pushed Tua to close decisions or at least went the distance." Exactly Wilder is way better than Tua
