Why did Pacquiao refuse random drug testing for the Mayweather fight in 2010?

The negotiations began for a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight in late 2009 and into 2010, they had agreed to all aspects of the deal except for the drug-testing protocol. Mayweather insisted on random, Olympic-style blood and urine testing, Pacquiao declined to agree to the specific form of drug testing, and the deal fell apart.

What do you guys think of this? So the reason the fight didn’t happen is because Pacquiao refused random drug testing? I think it delegitimizes Pacquaio's career somewhat. If you got nothing to hide why refuse random drug testing?

Pacquiao never refused random drug testing.

But Floyd did refuse VADA testing and the $5 million dollar drug test penalty.

    4 reasons
    1. Knew that if he couldn't beat JMM clearly then he didn't have a prayer of beating PBF
    2. Didn't know if he would pass the test.
    3. Scared of needles.
    4. Knew that the public liked him more and he could pull out of the fight like a ***** and obvious duck then fight Clottey and the fans would believe his excuse and blame PBF for the fight not happening.

Why did the fight fall apart then? I want to hear your side.

I haven't looked i to this since before their fight but the way I remembered it was that Pacquiao agreed to terms twice but Floyd kept rewriting the contract moving the drug testing date closer and closer to fight day. After the third time Floyd changed the contract after Pacquiao agreed to it Pacquiao said no.

They disagreed on the cutoff date after Pac had given up every concession Floyd demanded. There's precedence here (a video of Pac years before saying he thought having blood drawn on fight night weakened him).

Random drug testing is much fairer because otherwise guys can cycle.

Floyd refused VADA testing (by then the gold standard).

Floyd refused the $5 million drug test penalty.

Floyd was caught using illegal IV fluids.

Only guy to avoid drug testing is Floyd.

    Come on, man.

Here's Floyd on finally agreeing to fight Pac:

"Everything in life is about timing. I have a good team and I waited until the time was right."

“You can’t rush everything in life. Certain things aren’t meant to be rushed."

    — Floyd Mayweather Jr.

These are not my words, my guesses, my opinions. Just clean statements (and irrefutable facts) made by Floyd himself.

On top of this, you have Floyd CONSTANTLY saying, even just a month ago, that he earned the right to pick and choose.

There's no debating it whatsoever. Floyd ducked a prime Pacquiao.

Nonsense but what does this have to do with what took place in 2009 when Pac turned PBF down because of random blood testing with no cutoff dates??? Face it! Pac ducked a prime PBF and ran off like a ***** to fight Clottey a fight no one wanted to see.

2:23 of this video sums it all up. Roach admits that the fight didn't happen back in 2009 because it was mostly their fault because they didnt want testing, proving it was them not PBF. Case closed myth busted:deal:

The time was right hell we had to wait 5 year because Pac turned him down in his prime because of testing and ran off to fight Clottey. It was now or never at that point.
