Riddick Bowe. This man's overhand rights could chop through a mountain.

Nice job, Al, thank you. That's my favourite book too. How did I forget the source?

Not a massive fan (don't know much about the sport), but I like watching sumo a lot.

Deal with this the same way I did last time, get him drunk then bring him back to his apartment and give him a hot shot.

Ah **** that was the point of the thread, to make me out myself as Sonny Liston's murderer.

What did I just read? Amazing post.

I have a weird question that's been itching at me from a while.

Besides the fact that he's an ATG HW champion, enormous, powerful, showed skill and determination in some real battles, is there something else to Lewis that makes him a tough guy on the streets?

I see a lot of this kind of statement made about him, but besides the obvious I don't get it. He's got a lot of non-threatening Canadian in his aura. He doesn't want to fight, he just wants to go to Tim Horton's.

It doesn't count if you're the only one there and fast asleep.

My assumption would be that Valuev would pick the window if that was going to happen?

MMA answered a lot of questions about martial arts.

It told us which ones worked, and which were just snake oil.

It also told us which worked against the others.

So what did it tell us about boxing?

It told us that it is the single most effective hand striking martial art.

It also told is that it doesn't do very well against other martial arts, unless backed up by a grappling martial art.

A man with a good ground game, who knew how a boxer was likely to attack him, would probably get Liston on the ground, and then it would be game over!

Jiu Jitsu is no match for boxing. Look at Ronda's results against Holm and Nunes.

I was just joking around, but I wonder if Liston learned any techniques for grappling while he was in prison.

All that cramped space? There must have been some serious skills being passed around.

It took a tough prison to hold Liston, and the "jujiston" fighting style that evolved reflected that. Born in fear and pain from the chain gang to the shower room, it will replace BJJ on MMA as soon as we puzzle out the solution to @cross_trainer's question.
