First time hearing that, but that definitely sounds like something Cobb would do.

    Ha!

Floyd, forever the philanthropist, also goes into bat for Sonny in terms of sentencing, citing a poor upbringing and an uncaring, neglectful society in general as the catalysts for Sonny’s sometimes “abrasive” disposition - Patterson, sourcing from himself, says all men can redeem themselves and should be afforded every chance/opportunity to do so.

Meanwhile, the defendant Liston, sits in the dock, one eye staring at you and the other staring right into your soul - mumbling that you’re the one (the beaten pulp) who should be charged for impersonating a “man”.

To give the matter the gravity it deserves, The right honourable judge Samuel Davis Jr is selected to preside over the hearing - I dunno, I don’t like Sonny’s chances:-

You can scare Liston by telling him how my skill is underrated off Film and how early century writers saw me fight and said I was the best ever

Yeah, I think I got it from an excerpt of Ken’s book - GOING THE DISTANCE - which used to be available online - but can’t find it now on a quick look.

In lieu of that, it’s referenced in the third post here:- , further down the same poster qualifies it as being from Ken’s book, in which he also confirms Cobb’s purse being $200 K.

Cobb would've killed Kenny in a street fight.

Yes, I’m afraid in that realm Tex would’ve had it all over Ken - the latter being very wise to call the cops. Was Tex known to be doing drugs at that stage of his career or was he just naturally that crazy? - seems extreme chasing Norton up after the fight.

You don't really have to get close to shoot a takedown, a guy like Tom Erikson could of shot a takedown without being too close and rag dolled him.

I would scare him by telling him that I had this device called a mobile phone, and it could summon the police, who unfortunately were still not always equitable to men of his ethic background.

Nikolai Valuev - Liston himself might not want it with this guy in a bar setting

Danny Hodge - Has the amateur wrestling and inhuman grip strength to take Liston down and do whatever he wants with him.

Dominic Negus - Wasn't no stranger to bar fights being a bouncer/debt collector. An axe to the head couldn't stop him in a 3 on 1 attempt on his life.

O'Neil Bell - He won't hesitate to pick the nearest bottle or chair and hit Liston with it based on the stories of him, also has a wrestling background so should be fine in close quarters.

    Non boxers:

    Francis Ngannou
    Derrick Lewis
    Alistair Overeem
    Mighty Mo
    Brock Lesnar
    André The Giant
    Jerome Le Banner
    Bobby Lashley
Bob Sapp (If he really wants to fight good luck)
