Yeah my sympathy is limited. If UFC is underpaying it's fighters, then how come there isn't a rival promotion setting up, sweeping all the top talent and putting Dana out of business?

These guys are earning ok money when you consider its a relatively new sport which most people had never heard of until 10 or so years ago.

There is nothing in that dumbass telegraph article that says anything specific about Joshua stepping aside. It's just saying that he might do with nothing backing it up.

    Clickbait trash as usual

Well, they are groslly overpaid however people are willing to pay their hard earned money to watch fights. Would you rather 70% of that money go to Dana White or the fighters who put everything into preparation and training, risking their life in the octagon

Fury will fight old grannies for money. Joshua is still the biggest money maker for him. For a recent example look at Khan-Brook.

I dont understand the logic of people saying Joshua is ducking Usyk if he takes the 15 million, the caveat is to face the winner of Usyk v Fury. So potentially taking 15 million and then fighting Usyk again lol.

We all want to see Fury v Usyk but if I was Joshua I wouldn't want Fury beating the guy that I couldn't beat. I would rather go out and give it everything and possibly lose to Usyk. I think he probably gains more respect if he leaves it all in the ring but comes up short and loses.

Clearly these talks are ongoing through, it's not nearly Feb and a date/venue has not been confirmed for an Usyk vs AJ rematch.

Not true. Joshua may make a lot of money, but his opponents don't (even if they win).

Andy Ruiz basically made about as much defending three titles against Joshua in the Middle East as Wilder made defending one belt against freaking Dominic Breazeale on Showtime (because Joshua always demands he makes more than his opponents).

And Wilder didn't have to fork over three sanctioning fees (or 9 percent of his purse) on top of it.

Usyk doesn't necessarily want to fight Joshua again when Usyk would make just as much taking home the lion's share as champ defending against anyone else ... and he could make 50-50 with Fury (like Wilder did).

So none of these guys (if they have any common sense) are going to let Joshua (the loser in his last bout ... the guy with no belts) dictating their next fights.

If someone says they'll give Joshua a step-aside fee ... but Usyk or Fury HAS to fight Joshua after that (and probably vacate their belts) ... they should both say NO.

Joshua brings nothing. Why should they give Joshua a title shot when he's a mid-range contender and he's going to demand more money than the champs?

To hell with him. Get in line. Tell him to become a mandatory. Fight Hrgovic. And if Joshua does become a mandatory, the champ will still make more than him.

Joshua has no "pull" in this scenario. He's still operating like he's calling all the shots. It still hasn't sunk in for him, or Hearn, apparently.

The sanctioning orgs have already dropped him down to the middle of the ratings. If Fury and Usyk blow him off, what's Joshua going to do?

That's why he'd better not walk away from this rematch clause. It's the only thing guaranteeing him a title shot this year. That's it.

Who will make a contract saying the winner of Usyk-Fury has to fight Joshua next? Fury isn't under any obligation to fight Joshua. Joshua isn't even ranked by the WBC. And Usyk is under contract to fight Joshua NEXT because Joshua put in his immediate rematch clause in their last deal if he lost.

    And Joshua lost.

So Joshua either gets an immediate rematch next or he doesn't a rematch and they both move on.

Nobody has to pay him to step aside. He isn't a mandatory anywhere. If he doesn't want the fight, nobody should have to pay him. If he wants the fight next, he gets it next because of the rematch clause. Without the rematch clause, there are a handful of guys in every org ahead of him.

You guys act like Joshua has all the marbles. He doesn't.

Usyk should just say "Fight me now or we're done. Move on."

There's no incentive for Fury or Usyk to push this down the road. They can sign their own deals to fight each other a couple times for all the belts and split everything 50-50.

If Fury isn't prepared to sign a contract that he willing to fight AJ next include in the Usky contract I expect AJ signs the rematch next.

AJ is still the moneyman in boxing and to state he doesn't holds marbles is naive.

A bit of an angry rant some of it I agree with. Joshua did lose and probably lost his pulling power but up until his last fight he was the money fight in the division, Wilder never was.

It's funny how you bring up Wilder in a rant about Joshua rematching Usyk and making demands. Wasn't it Wilder who took Fury through arbitration to demand he gets a 3rd ass whooping, which he did.

Your wrong about Joshua only opportunity to get a shot at the belts is an immediate rematch. He would also get an opportunity if he takes the step aside money and fights the winner of Usyk v Fury. Not your best post my friend.

You are missing the point. Maybe I wasn't clear.

Joshua isn't the mandatory so he DOESN'T get the winner if he takes the step-aside.

    * Usyk isn't being given $15 million NOT to fight Joshua next but to let him have one tuneup first.
    * Fury isn't being paid $15 million to agree to give Joshua the first shot at the four belts if Fury wins them all.
    * The sanctioning orgs aren't demanding Usyk fight Joshua next. The WBC doesn't even rank Joshua.

Joshua has his rematch clause. That's the only way he gets a title shot this year. If he steps aside, he has nothing.

Nobody is being paid to agree to fight him next. Nobody HAS to agree to give him a shot at four belts later this year.

The only pull Joshua has is he has an immediate rematch clause. IF he doesn't take that immediate rematch, neither fighter is under any obligation to agree to anything with him.

In fact, it makes more sense for neither of them to guarantee him anything.

Joshua activated his rematch clause. He should just fight Usyk.

If he doesn't want to fight Usyk next, then Usyk should EXERCISE HIS RIGHT to say, "If you don't want it, then get out of the way. **** or get off the pot. I'm not agreeing to give you anything but an immediate rematch. That's it. Take it or don't."

It makes no sense for Fury or Usyk to agree to fight for four belts ... and then be FORCED via contract to fight Joshua first after that.

They both should fire anyone on their teams who recommend they agree to that.

If some FINANCIER in the Middle East wants to pay Tyson Fury AND Oleksandr Usyk $15 million EACH to AGREE to let Joshua have a tuneup while they unify and then fight Joshua later in the year ... that's one thing.

If anyone is paid a fee, the CHAMPIONS should be paid to agree to fight Joshua after they unify.

    Otherwise, sign nothing.
