Fury could end up fighting Ngannou which would could generate huge revenues if marketed correctly. It could be a bigger fight financially than Usyk.

I think they would do similar for this. It’s a prestige thing of hosting the fight more than wanting it on a prime time on a Saturday night for them.

Could all be hot air anyway

No chance if it’s in Saudi. Whole point in paying a premium is to compensate for a potential loss of PPV buys and ticket sales. As said about the UAE - the state doesn’t pay for it, so they then still rely on the PPV buys from USA.

Anthony Joshua says he has not signed a £15m contract to step aside from his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk so the Ukrainian can fight Tyson Fury in an undisputed heavyweight bout.

Fury's promoters Bob Arum and Frank Warren have been pushing for Dillian Whyte to agree terms while also speaking to Joshua's team.

But Joshua, who lost to Usyk on points in September, took to social media to say he is yet to see a contract about such an arrangement and added: "I'm the man who handles my business".

The 32-year-old Joshua said: "You know what's bad about all these interviews I see?

"I see certain interviews that quote what I said, and I think to myself: 'I ain't done no interviews. Where did this person get this information from?'

"I'm hearing people saying, 'AJ accepts £15m to step aside'. I ain't signed no contract, I ain't seen no contract.

"I'm the man in control of my destiny, I'm a smart individual and I make calculated decisions every step of the way."

He might as well step aside, he's got no chance in the rematch.

Joshua didn’t deny it - and all they guff about ‘making calculated moves’ suggests to me that he’s already rationalising the decision. Think this could be on.

Could you imagine the endless Vegan Beast threads about this fight with loads of hypotheticals? Hope this fight doesn’t happen mainly because of that.

Pretty sure Lennox Lewis took step aside money a few times.

    Sometimes it's the smart move.

But they probably would. They were all about that money. Take the pay off for now, lay low for a while and plan the big takeover down the line. Cunning.

The Watford Godfather has learned his lessons well.

Could be, especially if he gets a guaranteed shot at the winner. Also really good for the division.

I don't think he will ever beat Usyk, but his best chance would be to have more time with his new trainer. He should take the step aside money and hope the pair ruin each other.

Lennox didn't take step aside versus a guy that comprehensively beat him.

I think sometimes it is the smart move. Yarde for example should have taken it, would have got double the purse and a shot against Canelo or a vacant title

Exactly. AJ has no chance against Uysk.

Earns millions for doing nothing, let's Usyk and Tyson kill each other, saves his own career AND gets the winner? He would be wise to let this happen.

If he gets a legitimate offer of 15 million quid it's really a no brainer, as has already been said.

But it's whether there really is a legit offer of that or similar magnitude and a legit chance of Usyk v Fury being made.

Something has definitely been going on with Joshua these past months though. There's been months or silence and non-announcement on the Usyk rematch.
It looks like Joshua wants the rematch but he wants to undergo a transformation somehow, under new trainers, to give him the confidence to enter the ring knowing he's a better fighter than before.

I think he was rash to trigger the rematch clause so quickly, to be honest.
He might be thinking the same thing.
