A qualified yes-you can see videos showing Foreman's subtle skills in framing, parrying, moving (using his huge strength to love people too), & the question is can Joshua keep himself from being bludgeoned. At his best Foreman had a great jab, & cut off the ring very well. If old Wlad almost ha him out, Foreman has a better than even chance there.

Wladimir at 40 was faster than Foreman. If Lyle can put him down then Joshua can hurt him way worse.

If Ruiz could stop Joshua, Foreman could hurt him way worse.

That's silly argumentation, especially considering that Foreman has better resume than Joshua and was more durable.

70s Foreman actually has fewer wins against top ten contenders and more loses than Joshua.

His two best wins were due to his opponents being fragile. Joshua is quite a bit bigger than Frazier and Joshua has a much better chin than Norton. He’s also won every fight where he dealt with adversity except Ruiz 1, which he avenged. Foreman avenged nothing.

That's because Ruiz wasn't even ranked when he beat Joshua - how is that supposed to be an argument for him? :D

There is nothing fragile about Joe Frazier. He was much tougher than Joshua.
He didn't win against Usyk as far as I know.
Yeah, because Ali didn't give him rematch and he retired after Young fight. He didn't have to avenge a loss against someone like Ruiz because he didn't lose against someone of that caliber.

Got me. Forgot about Usyk. But Usyk>>>Jimmy Young. And the rematch is looming.

No, Ruiz has little to do with Foreman having fewer wins over contenders in the 70s than Joshua has in today’s era. And Ruiz is far superior to most bottom of the top ten 70s contenders. Foreman avenged nothing.

Frazier was much more prone to being bulldozed by a wild swinging 220 pound man than Joshua. This does not require detailed explanation.

Yeah he was prone to that because he was bulldozed by... Foreman. It's a circular reasoning.

Whereas Joshua was not bulldozed by Wlad, Whyte, Povetkin, or Ruiz in the rematch. He even dropped Ruiz and was competitive in the first.

There seems to be a religious belief among some of you that 70s Foreman would do well against larger fighters of successive generations who were comfortable going the distance. His career suggests otherwise. In fact, the first time he won a 12 rounder without controversy was against Crawford Grimsley in 96. Same guy who Thunder took out with his first punch thrown.

For some reason I remembered first Peralta bout as 12 rounder, not 10 rounder - my mistake, I admit.

He went the distance a few times in the 1970s though

A ten rounder with a cruiserweight isn’t the same thing.

Joshua lost against cruiserweight and overweighed cruiserweight though ;)

Usyk in the size of Ali. Peralta was 6’0 and maybe 200 pounds dripping wet. No comparison.
