Lewis was one shotted by punches he did not see coming/expect. The first time was before teaming up with Emanuel Steward and he didn't have as good a defense. The second time he was fooling around and didn't take his opponent seriously. Plus, Rahman hit harder than Louis ever could. Yes, I have seen him. Louis lacks the skill to compete with more modern ATGs. And it only landed like a nuke cause he fought bums. He won't ever take Lewis out with 1 punch.
Simple. If we assume that they both have seen footage of each other, then Lewis will know Louis poses no threat of ever taking him out in a punch exchange (Lewis hits way harder, has a better chin and is way stronger), so he will pounce on Louis from the get go and just go through him like a knife through butter. He'll demolish him like he did Ruddock.
Lewis wrecks him imho. Steward trained his guys to be superb against smaller guys or guys with slow feet and Louis fits both descriptions. Very likely Lewis follows a Wlad-like gameplan: fights tall, uses the jab a lot, ties up close and when he gets an opening drops the hammer. Once Lewis gets his man hurt it's goodbye. And don't even bring Carnera into this because Lewis would have whipped him before breakfast.
What evidence points to Rahman being a particularly devastating puncher, apart from the fact that he took Lewis out with one shot?
When you're the only heavyweight in history to have lost the title twice by taking one solitary punch, you'd be very unwise to rule out your opponent's chances in a punch exchange, especially if that opponent is Joe Louis. Would love to see the supporting evidence that Lewis hit way harder than Joe, or had a better chin. Again you take a very strident view but as it stands, that's just your opinion and I think your argument needs more.
