It’s been many years since I’ve seen it but the Rocky lockridge fight was pretty good from memory.

He was also approaching 37 and had had seven fights in seven years. Just to add a bit more context.

I didn't like to say but the concept of being crap as you're miles better than anyone else is a new one on me, too.

Although it might explain why he rates Canelo so highly.

Recently I stumbled across a youtube channel that has a number of his off the radar, keep busy fights. Absolute gold, in my opinion, because I love fights where you can see a well known fighter growing and working on things.

Tho well past prime, his destruction of a very capable Terrance Alli is worth a watch.

His destruction of a capable F. Tomas de Cruz is a textbook on boxing arsenal. Already mentioned, Mario Martinez is a fun match. Rosario is likely his peak performance. The booze and drugs... and age soon began to take their toll.

The greatest fighter of his generation.

When you're correct, the beating is on the attacker.

For me, the most interesting aspect of this thread is how many different JCC fights have been mentioned. Chavez was a a really good and really entertaining fighter.

I love how he could just break a fighter’s will

Yes, he ground them down and then would hurt them. Funny thing, there was nothing flashy about him. He was just really good.

I heard the Frankie Randall fight was epic, but which one exactly?

I was going to mention the Alli fight. Alli as you say was pretty capable and Chavez tore him to pieces.
