Hes only been boxing for a couple of years. only had 10 amateur fights so ofcourse he has a long way to go but he is only 21 years old. They could spend 5 years building him up yet

 

In a couple of fights time I would love Fisher to headline at York Hall fighting for Southern Area Title. Place would be bouncing.

I appreciate he’s really green, but even with rookies with no experience you can often catch something special early on. For example Hopkins had only boxed in prison when he turned over, but early on he was something special. Extreme example, but certainly you can see early on if they’re gonna be any good. Canelo too I suppose.

 

Yeah Ofcourse there are generational talents. I don’t think Johnny fisher is that but if the fella goes on to win british or European and headlines a big fights it would be a mega achievement

 

Not always. I recall seeing Anthony Joshua at the ABAs in 2010 and thought he looked absolutely terrible. I would never have believed in a million years he'd go on to do the things he's done. Just a couple of years later and I was shocked at the massive transformation he made.

 

He does crazy numbers. As a fellow East End lad, I hope he does well.

 

That’s fair mate, but at the same time, AJ won the ABAS in 2010 so terrible or not I would an argue that’s an indication of potentially doing well in his career, when you look at ABA champions of the last 20 years its certainly often a who’s who of people who have had significant career success.

 

I can see already how it's going to play out with Fisher.

He's a likeable young British heavyweight with an unbelievable following that casual fans are already buying into........ meaning all the sad boring "hardcore" boxing fans will turn on because "he's getting opportunities", "an Eddie Hearn ticket seller", "he's getting to fight in Vegas when he hasn't fought anyone yet"................ bore off.

He's had a limited amateur background so will be brought through slowly but yeah, of course he's going to get given opportunities given the fact he's got some clout behind him and why knock him him when we'd all do the same in that situation. As if he would turn down the opportunity to fight in Vegas.

 

Don't see what's likeable about him and his fat dad just constantly saying 'bosh' and talking about Chinese food but each to their own.

We all know Hearn prioritises stories over actual boxing ability these days. Johnny ‘from Romford and his dad loves a Chinese’ Fisher and Terri ‘used to work in the chippy’ Harper
