    Round 6 - Martinez 10-9 (Close)

    Again McGowan roughs up Martinez on the inside and catches him with his head again to which Martinez moans. McGowan is showing too much respect, this is what he needs to do to bother the older man. McGowan has some more success but his busted nose causes him issues in the last minute of the round and resorts to running at the end that probably loses him the round.

    If I was Mac McGowan at this point I would say the hell with it and just take the DQ loss by blindsiding Martínez with some MMA style slashing elbows on the face, for the disrespect. (referring to Maravilla, rather than wiping away his boogers, now BLOWING THEM DIRECTLY ON MCGOWAN'S SHOE!)

    Round 7 - 10-8 Martinez

    I actually had McGowan winning this round - Martinez was being fairly lazy just pot shotting on the ropes and not really putting any pressure on McGowan. He was letting the younger man work too much - then had some success with single body shots, one which after a delayed reaction puts him down. Fight over now really, just whether McGowan survives, as he doesn’t have the tools to stop Maravilla.

    Martínez is starting to introduce more of the right hook into his arsenal - to dazzling effect. McGowan first takes one across his trachea while putting out a lazy jab, with Martínez driving his forearm through after coming up a little short with a counter right hook, and crunching McGowan's Adam's apple with it. Then it starts getting thumped into McGowan's side anytime he dares a left jab - and eventually one forces him down onto a knee with an agonized expression on his face. Surprised he bothered getting up, fair chance he shat himself.

    Martínez is using quick wrist-snap jab feints downstairs, and then firing a right jab behind it for real either upstairs or down - keeping McGowan guessing with each new one. A few signs of life from McGowan when Martínez takes his periodic rests, sagging in place with his shoulders relaxed and both arms drooping, but after scoring a couple of left jabs McGowan is shut down either with footwork, a quick sharp right jab in the nose, or some body shots - or all of the above.

    Not sure if I’ve given him that one out of sympathy or not. Martinez started off on the front foot and look much better, not landing too much though. In the second and third minute McGowan let his hands go and actually caught, but not troubled, Martinez a few times.
