Sergio looks like a monster. He's so much bigger and more powerful. That one shot he just landed was more consequential than all the childish pitty pats the other guy landed that round.

    Round 9: 10-9 Martinez (Close)

McGowan again I felt was winning the round by just being busy and Martinez wasn’t landing much, but then two solid straight shots at the end of the round made the difference and shifted it back in his favour.

    88-82 Martinez

Kudos to Mac for not getting KTFO by that left, btw. It wasn't the destructive tsunami wave of the left from Williams II (closer to his target and better leverage for Maravilla on that one coming up from a crouch) but damn.

    Round 10

Martínez is waiting on McGowan, almost curious to see if he's going to come all-out in this, his final opportunity. Martínez leaves a few hovering right jabs for him to impale himself on if he so chooses. McGowan tries crowding in past them, and Martínez plugs him with underhanded lefts on the belly. McGowan fishes in with straight volleys, and Martínez indulges him for a moment, letting a few lands, then WHACKS him down hard with a counter left. McGowan gets up and is saved by the bell.

    10-8 Martínez

    100-88 Martínez

Sergio looks like a Roman statue, wise aged head on a youthful Adonis body. 46 years old, gotta be that gear.

    Round 10: Martinez 10-8

The young Mancunian pushes the action this round and Martinez throws the odd single shot that often lands. However, McGowan is pretty non stop with his work rate and does catch Martinez often and regularly. Martinez still lands the odd eye catching shot but is generally being out worked until he throws a catapult left that drops McGowan to his arse, putting an exclamation point on the wide victory.

Decent performance but you just can’t see Martinez doing anything at a serious level anymore.

98-90 Martinez - but you could have it anything between 99-89 or 100-88. I was probably a bit generous with giving McGowan 2 rounds (would have been 3 if McGowan hadn’t gone down again at the end) but put a decent effort in but never really challenged Martinez.

Prime Sergio would've got McGowan out of there in 8 or 9 rounds. Sergio turns 47 next month and is clearly on the downward slope now.

Now let me see if Sergio can talk slowly enough for me to effectively translate his victory interview..

I think you’re being generous there. Martinez with the speed and that same shot selection would have hunted McGowan and had him out in 5 I think!

Martínez says, "Thank you friends" and then something about it being difficult. I think he was just giving McGowan a rub, and being gracious.

Otherwise, nah, demasiado rápido, couldn't make it all out.
