How would Anthony Joshua, Usyk and Tyson Fury have fared in the 70s?

They would all have lost to the top guys.

 

No Usyk is something special and about the same size as most heavies from that era.

 

I think people underestimate Usyk's skill. Anyone who thinks a 220 lb Usyk who's quicker than all but maybe Ali couldn't figure out how to avoid getting KOd against Norton, Foreman, and Frazier is kidding themselves. Usyk's ring IQ alone would beat several of those guys. Ali is the one I think he'd struggle with because Ali has similar speed and ring IQ.

Fury would dominate on size alone. Wilder is 6'7' and Fury bullied him like a school child. Plus, Fury isn't a mental midget in the ring like he is outside of it.

Joshua would get chinned by Foreman, Norton, and probably Frazier. Ali would make him look like an amatuer.

 

Not that special!

 

Fury would do well in any era, purely due his physical size, no matter how skilled he is.
Joshua would do ok, he would be competitive, without being outstanding.
Usyk is tough to call as he’s an unknown quantity at HW, but has massive promise.

 

Fully roided up AJ, Fury and Usyk are gonna be punishing ali and frazier.. its gonna be bad bro

 

Usyk dominant against 70s heavyweights! You must be joking. He would struggle against the 80s and 90s heavyweights

He would be a top fighter in any era. That's not to say he wouldn't lose, but I couldn't name 5 fighters from the ENTIRE 70s decade who I would favor over him.

 

Ali, Frazier, Norton, Foreman and Holmes to name a few would all beat him then again they would beat all the guys in this era. It’s known as the greatest era in heavyweight boxing for a reason.

 

Norton most definitely would not beat all the guys in this era, he matches up alright with Usyk but would get iced by Wilder and AJ among others.

 

I think a prime Tyson, Lewis and Wladimir would get to him eventually but that's not the 70s.

A young Tyson is probably the worst style matchup for Usyk. Usyk doesn't really hit hard in a single punch for a heavyweight but his accuracy (like lomachenko) is very precise and the amount of punches he ultimately lands do a lot of damage over time.

I think with the right gameplan Foreman and Ali could beat Usyk. I think 15 rounds might change the dynamic and you may find Usyk will have to move less to pace himself better. It's hard to say unless there was an actual time machine for this to happen.

 

Norton does about as well against Wilder as he did against Foreman, Shavers, and Cooney.

Wider in the 70s would be hilarious. He'd be looked at like Shavers on stilts.

 

Usyk is better than AJ and Wilder.
