Will there be a "RIP Don King" when he dies?

By me yes!

 

Personally I am not a fan of his. But he is a great promoter. So, yes.

 

Don King and Bob Arum. Both as grotesques as each other.

 

Quite a lot of bad feeling towards Don King in this thread.
The man put on a lot of great fights, delivered some historic fights.
Haters gonna hate, I guess.

 

King is a scumbag, but he put on great fights. With good under cards.

Arum (and others) is also a scumbag but his thing is preventing great fights.

They are not the same.

 

Yes, he’s put on some really great nights for boxing. What’s the worst thing he’s done anyway, steal money?

 

As I always said about Don King.
1. He didn't STEAL MY MONEY; and
2. He's put on the BEST stacked cards bar none for any promoter.

 

Scum or not without him and Trump we couldnt have seen many memorable fights of the past. He knows boxing better than any other promoters. Competent man.

Why not? He was better than all the idiots we have today when it came to putting fights together. Better than Arumb, Hearns, Warren, PBC, GBP and the rest of the current idiots today who hide and cherry pick.

Still he was a blood sucking ******* but as for boxing he made the fights happen

 

Kings a murdering scumbag who has ripped off many a fighter, which is why he hasn't had a top stable of fighters in decades. Nonetheless he has lived a fat and fancy life. I'm sure there will be a line of folks wanting to **** on his grave.

Not by his fighters although Trevor Bryan might say some nice stuff.

 

I have read both books by Holmes and the book by Shavers. They both have somewhat complex views on King, none of which are "**** that guy". They both seemed to agree that, generally, he promises a big payday, then nickel and dimes it down to 80% of that, but that they might never have got even that amount without him so wtf were they going to do.
