Neither could take the other man's punch and Louis on film cant close the gap between them. Unfortunately I'll pick Lennox Lewis.
There I would have to disagree. Louis could obviously take a punch, much better than Lewis, who didn't take a punch badly by the way!
Not enough to stand upright for long. The skills and delivery for range not motion the size are clearly Lewis, Bill Conn for Petes sake rock louis 169 pounds and he's no puncher! Lewis would be the hardest hitter Louis ever faced.
Did Lewis ever get up from a knockdown? Louis was one of the those guys who could be knocked down, but then would get up and make you pay for it. Between the two, in a rubber match, I bet on Louis.
neither you say your wrong joe did punch others mutiple times who wasnt as tough as lennox ever was so why did they survive then joe for a fact never could take punches as hard as mercer or a old George he would be done in the 1st in a handful so your comparison doesn't make sense
you bet on losing then that quote means nothing since lennox never went down from any puncher as small as joe fought or have they had as bad as tech so your dumb quote comparison means nothing try using somebody who makes sense to compare oh It is none well why say it
I consider getting rocked by Billy Conn, to be a much less damning indictment on a chin, than getting sparked by Ramhan with one punch. Getting rocked doesn't lose you the fight.
Neither man had a good chin. Tommy Farr stunted Louis. Galento floored him Bradcok floored him. None of this would happen to Lewis. You seem to think all old-timers are great. They have flaws too. Lewis beat every man he fought and his collections of wins is better.
The difference between their chins, is that Louis gets criticized for getting dropped or stunned in fights that he won, while Lewis gets criticized for fights where he got stopped. I know which boat I would rather be in.
Louis was Ko's by two sub 200 pound men. Louis record vs the best he fought is a losing record. 1-1 vs Schmeling, 0-1 vs charles, 0-1 vs Rocky.
