Firstly - I'd love to hear the views of those closer to boxing politics and technicalities - @Trafford for example. Can Dillian pull this? Does he have a credible case? How might this affect his WBC status?

From my view (work in business, I've seen lots of "big" contracts and associated paperwork, albeit in very different fields to boxing) - I don't think he has a leg to stand on.

Hearn made it clear on Thursday and Friday that he intended to bid, so Whyte clearly knew this was happening. Hearn put in a big big bid to win the rights to stage it. It's difficult to imagine Hearn would have willingly entered this kind of agreement if he thought his own fighter wasn't going to play along.

As I see it: Whyte entered the purse bid willingly - he did not injunct the WBC to delay again. His own promoter bid - and bid big. A huge winning bid was made and he'll earn a fortune - albeit as the 'away' fighter.

He surely can't enter a purse bid and throw his toys out of the pram when his preferred bidder loses. That's literally what a purse bid does - highest bidder.

I enjoy watching Whyte fight. He's got a lot of good attributes in the ring, along with a lot of glaring gaps that expose him - it makes him exciting to watch. I want to see this fight happen, and though I think Fury wins, Whyte won't make it easy.

If Whyte tries to play even more tricks here, after the farce of his Wallin fight? Professional suicide at this stage, imho.

Do we think Hearn intended to win the purse with that bid then sweeten the pot separately for Whyte?

Whyte is the Meg/Han Markle of boxing
with these endless attempts at suing the dubious Mexican based charlatans.
He should just shut up, buckle down and get on with. Then ride off into the sunset with his grossly overpaid loot. Unless he does a Wallin, with his sore arm get out!

Whyte needs to just take it now i,d have thought. Massive purse bid for that fight. Never agreed with the 80/20 split but the purse bid was a lot bigger than anyone expected.

Got a feeling whytes gonna do better than people expect. One things for sure...he wont let the occasion get to him and unlike say joshua he wont stop trying to win.

Possibly but tbh that was a pretty big bid from hearn. Its just that franks was massive for that fight imo.

I dont think hearn would have added too much on top of his purse bid.

He'd be mental to bottle it now, it'd be career suicide and he knows it. Nowhere to run now.

Neither fighter can complain with the money they will get for this imo,10% gets put aside for the winner too so a wee bit of extra incentive for both.

Has Whyte made a statement yet?
Is he still sulking about percentages?

Yeah defo. Been on arguing whytes side with the 80/20 split. But the 20,s turned out to be a decent return and still a bit unsure if fury will see that full purse of his side of things. But whytes got to be happy enough with his side and the ten percent for the winner.

Sometimes you,ve got to stop looking at your neighbours side and concentrate on your own.

The 10% rule make me wish it always went to purse bids.

Matchroom fc in tatters. They were hoping Usyk would be their bodyguard and to leech a ridiculous bag of loot in step a side money.

Eddie's tactic of alienating all the big boys in America has backfired spectacularly. Now fwank has them all backing him.
