Lewis would go after Louis like he went after Golota.

 

That might well make things a lot easier for Louis.

I mean if he kept him at range, he would at least give him a bit of a puzzle to solve.

 

golota moved better then joe he used lateral movement and could threw combos while turning his body and could throw while moving which Blind people act like they cant see the difference

it's really nobody to compare to joe since they all moved better joe was so basic he missed mutiple stuff Andrew had who was that same style but way more advanced then joe like I said uptop yet lies like joe was more skilled then anybody yet missing advances like I always say/said others had in 70s-90s

Pretty sure Lewis would fight against Louis like he did against Holyfield, because unlike a lot of posters here Lewis wasn't dumb fighter.

We are matching Lewis against one of the most dangerous finishers of all time, and he does not have the best chin, but he does at least have a significant advantage in height and reach.

Your advice to Lewis would be to throw away his biggest advantage, by turning it into a brawl with Louis?

Jab, pivot, catching and shooting, parrying, walking opponents onto uppercuts, triple left hooks, right hands through guards, changing the punch trajectory mid punch.

I would be interested in you explaining the punches and techniques that Mercer and the liked of Rahman could do that Joe couldn't. Would you be able to reference the specific fights that we could see these skills and the fights in which Joe didn't in his prime (not fights against Charles, Marciano and Walcott)?

If you want examples of Joe's movement, watch the evasive footwork against Max Baer in the first couple of rounds until he punches the threat out of Max's right hand and it's just a matter of time as Max is resigned to his chin keeping him in the fight as long as possible. Triple left hooks, jab and parries, vicious right hands through and over the apprehensive defence that Max tried to keep.

But, of course, Joe had no skills, no footwork and isn't known as one of the greatest combination punchers of all time.

Out of interest, how would you rate the movement of Mantequilla and Chocolatito? Let's see if you recognise the commonalities.

joe is using good punch angles but they are basic in the way he is throwing them he is using good punches for people like max who stands there joe is moving at times like you said using movement but he doesnt throw much when throwing cause he doesnt feel comfortable or is he as smooth throwing when moving as when he is standing still

while he is standing he looks stiff mostly and not showing good defense just trading max wasnt a hard person to get away from

Andrew was having an anxiety attack from the minute he walked into the ring. The Big Dog could do that to alotta fighters, Ruddock being one, Bowe wouldn't even fight him. Joe Louis whatever few shortcomings he had isn't gonna punk out and cower away when the fists start flying. If Lennox got overly aggressive here he might well be giving the Brown Bomber an opening that could cost him.

 

Golota moved well against Lennox. I especially loved the way he gets nailed, runs away right into his corner and begs for mercy and puts up 0 resistance. Joe Louis isn't capable of that. If the Brown Bomber is going down he's firing leather on the way. His hands were a blur in his prime.

 

So Louis is was a dinosaur.
