Can’t recall that. But now you mention, a totally different class to Collins on the night of the 2nd Eubank fight.
Kalambay would have beat Watson the same way he beat Graham and Collins, Graham might have had too much reach for Watson, his arms were a little short for a top middle just like Collins.
Eubank was just too tough, too experienced if you like for Michael as in seen too much from all the American gyms and the Bronx; just couldn’t topple him no matter what
The punch itself wasn't lucky but I think Eubank was still lucky to win. Watson's injury (which left him helpless at the start of the next round) resulted from the whiplash effect of the back of his neck hitting the ropes rather than the punch itself. It was a great punch but not a knockout blow because Watson got straight up. If he had not fallen into the ropes, he would have won comfortably on points.
The injury was caused at the point of impact of the mammoth punch (perfect torque etc) on the point of the chin, a rope isn’t doing what that will. Like a whiplash in a vehicle accident isn’t doing what a horses kick straight to the target will.
Michael was out before he fell back, which is why he fell back (notice the delay). Gone. The shot lifted him onto his heels. If anything the rope whip woke him back, like a bright light or cheek slaps tends to when a guy is gone.
So your saying the injury won the fight for Eubank and it doesn`t matter if it was the ropes that caused the injury because without the injury Watson would have won then? I don`t get your point, Eubank would always have landed a fight ending punch even though he didn`t knock Watson out?
How’s things? Off topic, I was talking to a mate a few days ago, and he asked me if I knew anything of Brian Anderson. I said that I knew nothing of him at all, but that you would probably know of him.
