This has always been around (not sure if Donny named himself after it?) But I went to his comeback fight in Winnipeg when about 18-19 years ago. He seemed like he had some possible arm injuries (not sure) or he was simply one armed puncher. It blew my mind when teddy said he was gonna shoot him (a prosecutor s dream to hear that stuff, self admittedly) but the 2 cities they were both in were different at the time, at least Donny said it never happened. Teddy trying to talk tough or else as the story goes wrong city, or wrong appartment.

It’s actually insane what Leonard did. There’s no way any welterweight today could take on a light heavyweight, even if they drained them

Leonard wanted the opportunity to win two titles in two weights in one fight, and Lalonde wanted a shot at the golden goose.i think Lalonde got 5 million.

Hearns was far better than any welter today.

Leonard was not a welterweight by then. Just like Pacquiao wasn't a featherweight in 2015 and Canelo is not a JMW today.

Canelo was a drained JMW and came in the ring close to 190. Leonard was a legit welter and wasn’t known for rehydrating much weight

These a false equivalencies. Canelo and Pacquiao was never a pure featherweight in the way Leonard was a welterweight, and Canelo was never a junior middleweight. Leonard didn't rehydrate anything to get down to 147; he actually lost 13lbs during the Duran fight. Pacquiao and Canelo dehydrated tons to get down to those weights.
