In terms of ability, many people would agree that the version of Benitez who Ray fought, was better than the versions of Canelo who fought Floyd, Lara and Trout.

Many people would agree that Benitez was better than Lara.

Benitez went and hit a great run of form just afterwards.

Canelo did the same. He’s improved a lot over the last 8-9 years.

When people refer to Canelo as been green, they’re talking about his lack of experience in fighting elite level guys. Baldomir wasn’t elite and Shane was done etc. Floyd was the P4P King in 2013. It was his first huge fight against his first top level opponent.

    That’s irrelevant.

That’s not how you rate wins.

You have to apply the relevant context.

A prime Pac. Not the faded, injured version who Floyd fought.

I’d have favoured Benitez over both of them. And why not? I’ve seen the Lara, Floyd and Trout fights. I’d definitely have favoured Benitez, even the specific version who Ray fought.

Did somebody say Floyd beat Prime Manny? That Manny died when Juan Manuel Marquez nearly killed him.

Prime Pac likely beats Benitez. The Pac that faced Floyd loses to Benitez.

what's wrong, can't play by your own rules?

and by the way, Whatever Ray Leonard did, Floyd did better

    Not me.

Matthew Hilton nearly killed Wilfred and Matthew was created in the image of Canelo

put a little pressure on Wilfred and he crumbles like a cheap deck of cards (see Matthew Hilton)

That's the day when Wilfred painfully found out this is a man's game

Had Duran put any meaningful pressure on him as Davey Moore did, as Hamsho did, as Matthew Hilton did, as Bruce Curry & Harold Weston, Duran would have beat him. Duran didnt seem to have any fire and looked as lifeless as he had in the Nino Gonzalez and Laing fights

That was at 160, Benitez started at 140 and was far quicker at that weight, Duran slowed down as he put the weight on too, his lack of reach was a problem v the bigger Benitez, he had to change his whole style as he rose in weight.

He literally got more respect from Canelo than Canelo gave GGG. And Kovalev.
