I don't think Povetkin was worse than every single one of Louis's title challengers. Since Louis didn't have a problem with fighting non-HOF people, then I don't see any issue with matching him against one in an imaginary fight thread.

Povetkin was so worried about fighting bermane stiverne of all people he took peds lol. He went life and death with Marco Huck whose the same size as Louis but even worse. A clean version of Povetkin would do considerably worse against Louis.
Schmeling, Walcott and Baer all have the cases over Povetkin. Sharkey too, but he was way too past his best to be considered here.
