Maybe. The first Louis - Walcott fight has been debated HARD in here since the forum started and I've seen enough decent stuff put forward on the Louis side of the ledger to cloud things a bit.
In my opinion Walcott won that clear. Possibly other people weigh other factors differently. That's why we have debates
Yeah, whatever, it's like saying David Tua beats Muhammad Ali. In fact, a bit less reasonable than that. Louis would box his head off and very likely knock him out. We're talking about one of the absolute best heavyweights of all-time against a decent second tier contender type opponent.
It's just the highlights available isn't it. I mean there's a very good chance Walcott deserved the nod but there's a little bit of leeway. No-one has the full fight and we are at the mercy of the editor.
Povetkin is there to be landed on , not good if you're up against a heavy handed sharp shooter like Joe Louis. Chambers pelted him with 61% of his power punches .. 61% !! Its not like he threw very little either . He landed 136 / 224.... Povetkin landed 144 / 513 But but Povetkin by knockout ya'll
Clearly you've never seen Povetkin fight, because his head movement is particularly good. And yet Povetkin won that on all the judges scorecards
Everyone is "overrated H2H" because you can't prove or credit anyone with a win in any imaginary fight, really. But we do anyway. Joe Louis has the record and the footage for the vast majority of people to recognize he would be a good bet to beat almost everyone else, in history of gloved boxing. He's still the gold standard for boxer-punchers. The most complete heavyweight probably. No one really doubts it. The more you study him, the more it's true.
Marciano was an elemental force with armour piercing fists. He blew Louis out of there and ragdolled him.
Except for $$$ Marciano $$$ the best heavyweight ever. As we all know he whipped Louis so there's your proof.
