A casual fan will just watch the big fights and follow the big names, a hardcore fan watches every fight and has an interest in all fighters.

I would say the casual will only watch the biggest of fights, but still won't follow the big name fighters like throughout the year or even through training camp.

The coaches in my club don't watch fights, maybe the odd one, but they know boxing inside and out. I wonder if they would be considered casuals lol

Don’t know the answer to the question and don’t really care but the “casual” fan is what pays the bills. The whole concept of trying to belittle someone as casual is lame anyways.

Simple. How much one invests in it. Is watching boxing your thing, or are you watching because you like all sports? That kinda stuff for me.

The willingness to go 100 pages on TKO6 and the heart to pick it all up again at the drop of a glove.

    Or is that insanity?

Hard to tell around here ;)

The six point spread between C.J. Ross' scorecard for PBF-Canelo, and mine. Depending on which you're nearer to, you either DKSAB or you do. :sisi1

    It's not rocket science

Hard cores understand the importance of CCA, aesthetically pleasing ring attire, No Mas wins, JTFO KDs/KOs, and how imperative it is to mock and ridicule have gloves won't travel gutless sissies, glass-jawed freaks and fighters cursed with below average punch resistance and sub KO40% featherfists who couldn't wobble an old lady with their Sunday punch at every opportunity which presents itself in order to try and drive them and their apologists out of the sport whilst likewise eulogizing and celebrating manly warriors with iron mandibles, savage punchers, and fearless road warriors at every opportunity

    Casuals don't

Nah, maybe one circle of less hardcore fans, but things are relative... a true casual to me wouldn't even know who, say, Pernell Whitaker or Vasiliy Jirov are, while only knowing ODLH and Hopkins for instance as the heads of GBP and not from watching their primes. The most recent garden variety would have been drawn into the sport by Jake & Logan Paul, while the older crop were attracted by the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao hype or something else mainstream (like the Contender reality show).
