I follow Duran on Facebook and very good it is too but he does seem to have very large head ! . I too have a very large head for my height and size and do spar however I'm no Duran !! Garry Mason RIP was also big in the Swede department . Do you think head size plays any part in boxing ??
You will find every variable imaginable between boxers. No, it does nothing lots of small heads made of concrete and big ones made of paper.
Yeah, people have been saying for years that Alvarez and Pacquiao have outsized head because of steroids and peds but who knows cos some people may just have naturally big heads
I see young lads who have worked out got on the juice etc at the gym with pin heads !! Big body little head. Not a problem for me or Duran apparently.
I have a huge head relative to my body but I am a big minimumweight in terms of muscle, I have considered bodybuilding in the past but like my density is off the charts issue is my bone structure is too small for the sport so I decided to box because in a way boxing is it's own form of bodybuilding like i have never lifted a weight and I can do a lot of the stuff gymnasts do that would make your jaw drop anyways a big head has helped me take on some huge guys in the past
Julio Cesar Vazquez, too. Faceline like Spongebob. Argentinians also often seem to have barrel chests and relatively skinny legs, I've noticed - Castro, Vazquez, Coggi, Roldan being my examples.
Even for his size, Max Baer had a big noggin which he passed down to his son Max “Jethro “ Jr. Despite being that much taller and larger, Buddy’s head didn’t even same quite as large as Maxie’s either or at least not so big as compared to his overall size. All too often, the chins/jaws that look like they might withstand a big shot end up being the opposite. Richard Dunn had your classic lantern jaw but it was far from steel. Chuvalo actually had a jaw that looked exceptionally strong and proved to be as solid as it looked. Ray Leonard’s chin didn’t look much but then he took all those shots in Montreal from Duran and several hard shots from Hearns. Check out Jack Johnson’s head as he got older - the whole effect being a combo of an atrophied body and a head that seemed to keep getting bigger in its own right.
jake lamottas head seemed to be some kind of optical illusion that keeps getting bigger every time you look at it. it was like three times the size of sugar ray robinsons head
