Those guys can literally join AARP. No need for them to hurt one another. Floyd v the Paul brother was more of a work.
Well, that raises an interesting question. You're saying that Ali/Liston 2 wasn't fixed because it lacked the key mark of a fix: There were no weird betting patterns. Here is the problem: How do we know that weird betting patterns are the mark of a fix? How many confirmed fixes had weird betting patterns? So far, the only consensus fix most people on this forum agree with is LaMotta/Fox. Did LaMotta/Fox have weird betting patterns? If not, why would we expect them in an Ali/Liston fix?
I know some people thinks Ali-Foster is fixed and one of my subscribers commented on my video also thinks Qawi-Spinks is fixed
Man I have no proof under oath for these, but IMHO there's 80% chance of BS involved This content is protected This content is protected
One of the worst cases I've seen of a boxer being careful not to hurt his opponent, is Rocky Graziano vs Chuck Davey. It was Rocky's last fight, and TV-darling Davey was being groomed for a world title shot against Gavilan... so you do the math!
Liston said the same thing to Sports Illustrated in 1968. "Clay knocked me down with a good punch. Anybody can get caught cold in the first round, before you even work up a sweat. And when I was down, Clay stood right over me. No, I never blacked out, not for a second. But I wasn't gonna get up, either, not with him standin' over me. See, you can't get up without puttin' one hand on the floor, and so I couldn't protect myself, and he can hit me on the way up." https://vault.si.com/vault/1968/05/13/whats-become-of-the-big-bear
If you watch List on vs Ali 2 Walcott screwed up the count and Listen did get up but then Walcott stopped the fight because Walcott was informed that Liston had been down for more then 10 seconds. As a matter of fact they were fighting when Walcott stopped the fight.
Thrilled as hell not to see Carnera-Sharkey II here. Hopefully boxing fans and historians have matured enough to dispel entirely of such a fairy-tale like theory.
ME: Quietly begins deleting his SHARKEY DIVED AGAINST CARNERA rant for which he was about to press “Post Reply”. Phew, that was a close one!
Not a fix per se but what about Marciano v Walcott II? Didn’t look like a particularly hard uppercut IMO but besides that, once down, did an apparently full cognisant Jersey Joe really mishear the count (at least he got a semblance of a count - he didn’t pay that forward, did he? LOL). Or did he just say fook it, I’m not going through with another hellacious fight with never say die, ever punching Rocky?
