If the refs did their job and took points for Foremans pushing he would have been disqualified a few times and or have lost fights to good short range and infighters
There's is as good certainty as there can be that Holyfield was on PEDs, considering the Evan Fields fiasco.
Herbert Muhammad who was in the audience sent word to Angelo Dundee to stop the fight. Knowing Angie there is a likelihood he would have kept sending Ali out. Knowing he was drained from the thyroid medication that had a diuretic effect he might have been hurt more then he was. As to Bundini he wasn't the one getting beat up. On the other hand he was Ali's alter ego and was literally with the emphasis on literally expecting a miracle.
Lewis refused Ruddock's request for steroid testing. You could write it off as mind games and trash talk, but you could also view it as suspicious. https://www.upi.com/amp/Archives/1992/10/29/Lewis-Ruddock-spar-over-steroids/7345720334800
Did Wlad stiff arm as much as Larry Holmes? If we are talking about habitual minor rule breakers, Larry did a **** ton of stiff arming and face pushing with his forearm.
If Tyson in the 80s was the last ATG heavyweight free from steroids, would that mean that Douglas was probably on them? Or is Douglas not good enough to count? (Douglas did say that he was using weight machines to prep for Tyson and get strong enough, IIRC, although that doesn't necessarily imply anything about PEDs in the 80s.)
I don't know about Douglas. I think he liked food though. I agree that using weights doesn't mean using PEDs. But just looking at the landscape of sports in general, and how boxers in the 90's started getting popped for PEDs, and how much money was on the table for these guys, it's in my mind not a stretch to assume that the vast majority of fighters in the 90's and beyond (including Tyson in the '90's, post-prison) were on PEDs. Why I don't think 80's Tyson was, is because he was surrounded by old-school guys like Cus, Rooney, Atlas and old-school managers like Jacobs and Cayton. His training regimen didn't even include weights, and PEDs work best with weight training. Post-prison I think is a different story, but not in the 80's, in my opinion. Also to add, you can't always go by physiques. Botha and Toney both got popped for PEDs, and look at them.
