Make a list of memorable fights where the cornermen threw the towel and especially those where they should have done so

Victor valle stopped Cooney from taking anymore damage.

Angelo Dundee stopped the Ali vs Holmes fight and probably should have done so sooner.

Herbert Muhammad from his ringside seat signaled to Angelo Dundee to stop the fight. He should have signaled to Ali to never take it.

    Bonus question:

Name a fight where you would have thrown the towel, but the cornermen didn't.

I’ve heard rumors over the years that people tried to talk Ali out of fighting Holmes but I don’t know the details or weather or not there’s any truth to it

    I’ll go a different direction.

Ivan Drago is literally throwing the referee out of the way to keep hitting Creed.

What difference does it make if Rocky throws in the towel? Ivan gonna suddenly stop and listen to the ref?

Anybody who cared about him did. Guys like Jordan, Shaq, and Big George made more money after they retired than during their careers. He had a contract with IMG to market him which he blew up when he took the fight. Things likely end up like they did even if he didn't take the fight. The damage was cumulative.

If Balboa had thrown the towel at the end of the first round Creed would have been saved. If he threw it early in the second, Creed would almost certainly be disabled or on a wheelchair, and Creed would never forgive Balboa. More honorable for Creed to die in the ring. Balboa did the right thing imo. Creed wanted to die in the ring rather than remain disabled for the rest of his life.

That makes the ending of Creed 2 all the more powerful.

In the movie Creed, Creed's son said he died doing what he loved. Rocky said I'm sure he would rather be here with you. Rocky and Forrest Gump would make the best friends because they had no guile but I would choose Rocky if I had a problem that needed taking care of.

Could’ve gone in a fair few times in Eubank-Thompson I.

I’m sure it didn’t help either though.

The ref could of grabbed Drago so he would stop hitting Creed. I seen various refs in real life grab or push a boxer so they would stop hitting their opponent.

I don't know what movie you were watching. Creed still thought he could win. That is why he told Rocky not to stop the fight. No where in the movie did it show Creed being suicidal or anything else. Also no boxer really thinks about getting killed in the ring. It rarely happens so it isn't something they think or dwell over.
