If i had to lay money on this matchup, I would favor the flashing, slashing fists of Jones over the methodical probing and pawing Monzon. I just dont see any way Monzon can take him out

I have always been suspicious of this. Watching him as an amateur, I saw none of this ability he would later display as a pro

 

Hearns couldn't dent and egg as an amateur. Different story in the pros.
The ams and pros are basically different sports.
Jones did get absolutely robbed in the Olympic finals in Seoul in possibly the biggest robbery ever, and was awarded best fighter at the games. Couldn't have been too shabby.
