I will comment later as promised when all have had a chance to comment. I will Marciano and Calzaghe are interesting picks. You always. Have to respect an undefeated fighter who appear somewhat mystical because as they say you never really know how good a fighter is u tilt hey have been beaten. I do respect the accomplishments of all 5 though.

Interesting. What do you think of Charley Burley in this context?

Burley was really great and easily made my top 50 last time I made an ATG list. Didn't quite separate himself from his arch-rival Holman Williams and his win over Moore came at a point when Moore hadn't quite peaked, but he was undeniably a beast who would have had a good chance of dethroning any world champion he might have faced had he been able to secure a chance at a world title. Even SRR.

The 22yr old who beat the man in my avatar by stoppage as the 5 to 1 underdog. He is the GOAT.

Sugar Ray Robinson for me. Pep is not miles off. Greb I think is difficult to judge as I've never seen footage although has a great record.

Valid observation on Williams, not seen this proffered before, as to the fighter himself I sort of struggle to rate/ find a place for him when assaying the top fighters of yesteryear and or, the best of all time.
As far as I can ascertain their isn't a lot of him on film, small snippet verses Oakland Billy Smith is all I have managed to get hold of, not much to go on to really assess his worth, the written word from some of his opponents and the reporters and/or papers of the time would suggest he was a somewhat cautious boxer, throwing his punches very sparingly, albeit with unerring accuracy, some reports of his contests would carry that the fight was a slow somewhat dull affair, sooo again not sure where I would place Burley, very, very, good of course, but great, and a ATG at MW not so sure guys.
    stay safe amigos.

    1. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    2. Clariisa Shields (I expect her to surpass Floyd in 4-5 years)
