I feel Frazier would have taken Wilder out with counter hooks

Wilder isn't a 5'10 brawler who has to bob and weave by necessity to land shots and he took very little damage in virtually all of his non-Fury fights, much less than Frazier tended to. Regardless of how skinny Wilder's legs are his average weight is higher than 70's Foreman's and he can generate an ungodly amount of power from his 6'7, 83 inch, PED-enhanced frame.

 

Frazier was taller than Tyson. Does that mean Wilder destroys Mike, too?

no. Its like saying wilder couldnt handle pacquaios pressure. There is a difference if a 6‘4 man with 250 lbs chases you or a middle weight like frazier.

Yeah of course he would not be able to KD ali obviously, cause ali could easily handle the pressure of pac despite him having way more pressure then frazier. Its easy to handle high volume punching by guys that are half your size. And ali is far from having a goat chin, he got floored multiple times and straight out cheated to handle the hook of cooper, who hits lighter then modern cws.

 

Tyson was pretty chubby. Thats why I said that he is more of a cw.

 

Frazier would take him apart. People that don't understand boxing think Frazier was a crude comeforward brawler, but he was excellent at reading the rhythm of opponents and getting all up in their faces with his bob and weave and subtle parries, then launch a crouching left hook straight through their guard. His one weakness was to uppercuts, but he wouldn't need to worry about this from Wilder, who mostly only attacks in straight forward lines. Very easily readable stuff for Frazier, who'd have a field day making Wilder miss and second guess himself with his constant head movement and subtle mental pressure, not to mention actual physical pressure with his relentless ripping hooks to body and head he'd be launching once he's got Wilder with his back to the ropes.

As for the size difference, this is more of a height difference than anything else, and Wilder has always been garbage at making his reach work for him against shorter opponents that aren't complete puddings. Frazier fought plenty of guys as heavy or heavier than Wilder and very rarely found himself outgunned or outmuscled. He wouldn't be so here.

Tyson wasn't chubby in the slightest. He was thickset. Very little chance in hell of him boiling down even to the modern CW limit without drastically weakening himself.

 

Imagine if it was Frazier's left hook landing not Molina's who's known for his right hand not his left hook. Pretty obvious Frazier gets to him.
