Peters doesn't have any backfoot box ability so the man is going to be walking face first into 50. cal sniper shots to beat the band.

Punches only took half a second to travel from Wlad's hand to Peter's face so in conclusion, 2 minutes has shown that's so much punishment

 

Some of those punches don't even land clean. And some are grazing hooks . 38 secs to 39 seconds shows the punch goes straight past Peters ear

The clip shows just one clean power punch landed in rounds 6 and 7

Round 5 was skipped.. Did he not land a single power punch during a whole round.. oh yeah , he was holding too much.

 

Getting hugged and getting punched are not mutually exclusive.

 

I've never seen a guy get more mileage out of a losing effort than Peter h2h. If the go to response is to bring up moments from losses, you're off to a bad start.

Without going back in detail over the Ring rankings, I think several of Peter's victims were ranked. Even aside from Maskaev and Toney who -- whether we like it or not -- were successful contenders in their era.

All that said, Lyle gets a lot of credit for his Foreman loss. Moreso than his victories against any other fighters you mentioned. Which was my point.

Lyle's credit doesn't serve him as well as Peter though, which was my point. Peter is automatically favored over several guys who have significantly better records than himself and who look better on film.

The difference with Lyle is that he is usually elevated h2h against other sluggers, which is usually fair given who he was up against. I don't see people using Lyle's losing effort to pick him to beat guys like Chris Byrd for example. Even his most die hard supporters know he could lose that one given Byrd's similarities to Young and Quarry.

 

Because they know the resume isn't that great. The logic is that Lewis is an amazing h2h force and Vitali "almost won" , therefore, Vitali is an amazing h2h force. Ignoring the fact he not only lost, it was literally the worst version of Lewis.
