Proof any of his wins were fake? Any at all? No? Ali beat old men too..... Remember Archie Moore? How come Archie was old when he fought Rocky but nobody cares when he was even older and lost to Ali. Sonny was older than Ezzard when he fought Ali, (possibly much older) but was he a washed up old man too? If he had no skill, how come he won 49 times with an 88% KO percentage (a record unmatched by any other HW Champ) and nobody could beat him? That doesn't just happen by accident. Someone with "no skills" should be knocked out by even an old Louis, Old Mongoose and past prime but game Walcott and certainly an Ezzard Charles who was less than 3 years older than said "hack". Even high level amateur boxers would lose those battles., and they have skill unlike Marciano in your viewpoint.... are you saying the worst amature boxers today with "no skills" could achieve such wins? Who should Rocky have fought to prove himself?

He doesn't understand the basic tenants of musclebuilding.... Next he'll tell us Tyson would have weighed 220 if he was an average in shape guy and people who put on or lost weight to fight at different weight levels are an unknown species....

Lol Ali also beat young men. Rocky Marciano best wins were against old men. Rocky Marciano also never beat modern sized heavyweights. Ali did.

You do realize the mafia controlled boxing right? You do realize the mob controlled Marciano's career right? You do realize Rocky Marciano was 5'10 180 pounds right? You do realize 180 pounds isn't a modern heavyweight right? You do realize you are blocked now right. Anybody who isn't smart enough to realize boxing has weight classes for a reason doesn't deserve to type to me. You are dismissed now. Blocked.

You don't understand that is any 180 pound boxer could just use steroids to bulk up to 220 pounds then there would of been some in the last 60 years of boxing since Marciano retired. Next I will tell you that you are still blocked for being a clueless boxing fan. Wait you are blocked.

Marciano was generally around 187lbs.Many books have been written about him and his career. Only two pro fights out of his 49 have ever been called into question regarding the result, the first Lowry fight was a dubious decision win for Rocky and the first Lastarza fight was also very close and could perhaps have gone either way.

Moore was 39/41 when he fought Marciano he was an old man when he fought Ali but Ali was an up and coming youngster not a champion defending his title.
It isn't the age of Charles v Marciano,it's the fact that Ezz had nearly a hundred bouts on his record and had lost 2 of his last 4 fights, one of them to Valdes who became the no 1 contender with that win,and who was by passed so Marciano could defend his title twice against Charles.
Who should Marciano have fought to prove himself?
Well he did a pretty good job of clearing out the division with the exception of Nino Valdes no1 ranked contender in Dec 53 & 54. Defending against the big Cuban would perhaps have silenced a lot of posters critical of Marciano's resume of major fights against largely old men and men not of the size of modern heavies.
Fights with Bob Baker with his hands in good shape,Clarence Henry , a good banger would also have cemented his standing imo.
ps I think he would have beaten all three ,but we never found out.

Yes. Nino Valdez had a very good run from 1953-1954. He may be the only challenger who Rocky should be held accountable for not fighting. He defeated everyone else ranked at or near the top however

Rocky also is the rarest of breeds---2 10 counts over hall of famers. How often do hall of famers have the ref counting 10 over them? And being behind and badly busted up in another bout with a 1 punch devastating ko in the 13th round.

Talk about a guy that rises to the occasion.....

What does being a HOF actually mean?
For me its much more important when you actually fight these HOFers.

nevertheless, what you do not see often is them looking up at the lights. Almost always it is a tko over those guys.

And Archie Moore sure was around for a long time after Marciano stopped him, in case you were not aware of that fact.

I'd take peak Moore over Wilder as well, though he was a bit slower in Marciano fight.
