If MOST 90s-2000s punchers hit as hard as Shavers, how would we know?

Out of all of the guys that did bounce him, noone hit him near as hard as sanders according to Klitschko though.

For the Rahman fight, i do agree that him not KO'ing Rahman is questionable but in to be fair he dropped Rahman and in Rahmans own words Sanders hit him the hardest. Just as Ron Lyle said nobody hit him like Shavers even though Foreman had KO'd him unlike Shavers

But KOing Wladmir and dropping Rahman are not particularly difficult things to do. Wladmir was KOd 5x and hit the canvas about 11x I believe, even in some fights he won. Rahman KOd 6x and dropped at least 7-8. And he LOST to Rahman. If we're giving brownie points for losing efforts, Shavers is leagues ahead of Sanders for dropping Holmes before losing.

When those are your best displays of power, if doesn't make me think top 5 ATG puncher. Sanders had 46 bouts and he only proved his power effective against 2 elite opponents and both were chinny. Shaver's stopped multiple iron chinend opponents such as Bugner, Young, and Williams.

Tyson against opponents who are above the arbitrary 215+ pound limit

    Berbick 218
    Green 225
    Smith 233
    Thomas 217
    Tucker 221
    Biggs 228
    Holmes 225
    Tubbs 238
    Bruno 228
    Williams 218
    Douglas 231
    Stewart 218
    Ruddock 1: 228
    Ruddock 2: 238

57% KO ratio. A certified feather fist.

And I made sure to only use fights from Tyson in his prime so you can't use that excuse.

I acknowledged that Klitschko had been floored multiple times but in Klitschkos own words, nobody in his boxing career had hit him as hard as Sanders did. Its on his best i faced profile. There are several examples of big punchers not KO'ing guys but still hitting hard enough for the opponent to claim said big puncher hit them harder than anyone even if they got KO'd.

You brought up Shannon Briggs and he's a perfect example. Briggs could not KO Lewis but Mccall and Rahman had him down in one punch, yet Lewis says Briggs was the biggest puncher he faced, simply because a KO isn't always the hardest punches that get you.

And staggering Vitali badly is a good demonstration of power because he was never knocked down, besides by arguably Corrie himself, not even by a point blank monster uppercut from Lewis. Holmes was a better fighter than Vitali but Vitali had a better chin in my opinion
Bugner was cuts, but those were impressive KO's

We wouldn’t. But reversely we also can’t prove that he hit as hard as them either

“Luis Ortiz” says Wilders swats the best and he has defended his crown against Willard, Ali, fought Williams had an exhibition with Louis beat Lyle and Foreman.... He was crushed by Cooney at one point though he bounced back anyways he fought Shavers (lost brutally) but there’s your answer .... though being a few centuries old probably took something out of him in his Wilder fight.

I understand that Wladmir said that about Sanders. But it seemed like Sanders hand speed and awkward south paws stance heavily contributed to the knockout.

Well I agree, the guy who had the most power on your resume isn't necessarily the guy who KOd you.

In Wladmir's case, he was KOd by several of the best punchers he faced. Brewster, Sanders, Joshua, etc. Even in his so called prime after Steward worked on his flaws he still got dropped such as against Peter. He has a weak chin in general, almost every moderately big shot he takes will leave a big impression on him.

But he didn't knock him down, let alone out. So, it's not a whole lot of information to pull from. Again, his best KO is a weak chinned guy who was stopped multiple times, his second best display of power is dropping another guy who isn't that durable of Rahman, and rocking Vitali once. He lost 2/3 of those fights lol. Dress it up however you like, he sorely lacks KOs over name opponents and his best KO was an inexperienced guy who lacks durability. That's all that matters. He simply doesn't compare to Shavers who has a deeper resume.

If we're elevating a puncher for rocking a tough opponent, then Shaver's rocking Ali is definitely more impressive. Ali faced way better punchers and better opponents in general than Vitali.

Hadn't Ali been knocked down by Frazier, and sub cruisers Cooper and Banks ?

Hadn't Ali taken shots from Liston, Lyle, Foreman, and Shavers while the best punchers Vitali faced were the amazing Chris Areola, obese caveman Peter, and the wheezing stationary 38 gear old Briggs who barely threw any punches?

And bombs from Lewis, and Sanders. And no doubt those guys you mentioned hit harder than 185 pound Cooper and 190 pound Banks

Shavers won the fight with Ali, I watched it recently, it was a clear UD for Shavers, he was robbed.

Those men were a lot better than those Shavers faced. And Tyson's prime was 86-88, you also used fights after that.

Tyson must have the shortest prime ever for a top 20 HW.

Besides, why do you make excuses when something doesn't fit your agenda? You base Shavers power on his KO% against men above 215 lbs. Tyson doesn't look impressive with the same criteria either.

Well the people that fought him don’t seem to think he’s overrated.
But then again what would they know.
